Parshuram a great devotee of Lord Shiv

The purpose of the sixth incarnation or Sixth Avatara of Vishnu is considered by religious scholars to be to relieve the earth's burden by exterminating the sinful, destructive and irreligious monarchs that pillaged its resources, and neglected their duties as kings.

Parashurama was the Great Grandson of Bhrugu Rishi, after whom the "Bhruguvansh" has been named. Bhrugu's Son, Rucheek, married King Gadhi's daughter, Satyavati. The son of Satyavati Jamadagni and Grandson was Parashurama. Jamadagni married Renuka, daughter of King Prasenjit. They had five sons, Parashurama was the youngest

Sri Parashuram left home to do devout austerities (tapascharya) to please Lord Shiva. Considering his extreme devotion, intense desire and unmoved and perpetual meditation (dhyan), Deity Shiv was pleased with Sri Parashuram.

He received an axe after undertaking a terrible penance to please Lord Shiva , from whom he learned the methods of warfare and other skills.

Legends
Once King Kartavirya Arjuna (Sahasrarjuna) and his army visited Jamadagni, a brahmin sage, who fed his guest and the whole army with his divine cow Surabhi; the king demanded the magical cow and Jamadagni refused because he needed the cow for his religious ceremonies. King Kartavirya Arjuna (Sahasrarjuna) sent his soldiers to take the cow and Parashurama killed the entire army and the king with his axe. In return, the princes beheaded Jamadagni the father of Parshuram.
Lord Parshuram
When Parashurama returned home he found his mother crying hysterically. He asked why she was crying, she beat her chest 21 times. In a rage, Parashurama vowed to exterminate the world's Kshatriyas 21 times. He killed the entire clan of Kartavirya Arjuna (Sahasrarjuna), thus conquering the entire earth. He offered his dead father's soul tarpana with the blood of the kings and warriors he slew. He then conducted the Ashwamedha sacrifice, done only by sovereign kings, and gave the entire land he owned to the priests who performed at the yagya.

Ganesha may be propitiated to remove obstacles from the path of the devotee. In Tantrik magic this is known as klesha-smashing. The Kleshas (blocks) are the bindings of conditioned belief and response - habitual patterns of attitude and emotional loops which maintain the boundaries of our achievable reality. In the Natha tradition, the root Kleshas are Ignorance, Ego, Revulsion, Attachment, and Clinging to Life. Invoke Ganesha to illuminate the dark corners of your psyche, to open the doors marked "I dare not enter here". Ritual is not enough. What matters is thought, world and deed - action in the everyday world. The results of each act of magic must be made flesh. Each knot unbound is a release; an orgasmic realisation of the dizzying freedom open to us beyond the artificial limitations we set up for ourselves. The Mudgala Purana lists 8 forms of Ganesha who mastered 8 demons or weaknesses:

Dhumravna[smoke-coloured]vsAbhimana[pride]
Vaklatunda[twisted trunk]vsMatsurya[jealousy]
Mahodra[big belly]vsMoha[infatuation]
Gajanana[Elephant face]vsLobha[greed]
Lambodara[corpulent belly]vsKrodha[anger]
Vikata[deformed]vsKama[lust]
Vighnaraja[King of Obstacles]vsMamata[ego]

A short puja

Obtain an icon or painting of Ganesha and place it on a small pedestal facing the rising sun.

In front of the image, draw a swastika in red paint on paper, and light candles and joss sticks around the image of Ganesha.

A simple and effective invocation of Ganesha is to meditate upon him taking form within your belly, and reflecting upon the qualities he embodies which you wish to emulate. A simple mantra such as OM GANAPATI NAMAH (obeisance to the Lord of the Categories) can be used. This meditation is known as "Internal Worship" and is followed by "External Worship" - breathing out the Ganesha within into his image or icon. The Ganesha indwelling the image may then be worshipped, by offerings of fire, incense, sandalwood, red paste, red flowers, water, music and of course, sweets. You may also offer him your experiences - "Om Ganapati, I offer the great laugh which burst from me when I listened to Howard Stern this morning." In return for your heartfelt offerings, Ganesha might well grant you a boon.

Hi friends!

"Ganesha and Parvati !"

One-day child Ganesha, diverted himself intormenting a cat, pulling her tail and rollingher up and down.

After few minutes he leftthe cat and went away. He never thought as to what he had done to the cat. He arrived at mount Kailash to meet his mother Parvati.

He found her suffering badly with wounds and dust. He then asked her about what had happened and she replied that he was only responsible of this situation.

Indeed she was the cat that was tormented by Ganesha. This story teaches us that all the living beings are of divine importance.

If we injure any living being we injure God himself. Ganesha learned a lesson and we must also learn.
