Vrish: thanks a lot, I knew that code, but i thought there was some other shortcuts.

Okay, so sucha great king himavan can fight only alone while all the guards and soldiers watch on a side? Thats so lame? What were they trying to show? BUt more than 20 yrs on and pankaaj dheer still rocks the sword fighting moves.
And how long are they planning to recycle old scenes of shiv and sati?
Markendeya is sch a powerful rishi, and all he does is stand and stare and do philosophical musings?

Ganga is so pretty and her voice is so horrible, its like urmila matondkar speaking while chewing a pan.

and vidyunmali speaks his thoughts out so loud?

Btw: Nandi, where was he hidden? mauka dekhke hajir? and he acts so much like the matchmaking aunties

@narangi: yes specially the mangal kavyas dwell with this topc mostly. However there are some sources where ganga is considered Vishnu's wife too and saraswati at times are considered Visnhu's wife too.😆 Indian mythos are never straight forward. MY personal fav is though Durga ma urrf parvati ma is shivji's wife and saraswati laxmi are her daughters and karthik and ganesh her sons, ie durgapuja theme 😆

You spoke my mind there.

There are many layers to the Ganga-Shiva relationship.

In one source from Bengal, Ganga is considered Shiva's first wife and Parvati the usurper.
I have also heard of fights between Shiva and Parvati re. his relationship with Ganga (can look up the source of anyone is interested).

And I have seen a beautiful Kangra painting (18th c) called "Siva embracing Ganga"...it's in the India Office Library in London. If you're ever in London, do look it up.

So obviously, there are variants.

There is a verse in Kalidasa's Meghaduta that mentions Parvati's jealousy towards Ganga as the latter flows through Siva's matted hair. Also in Sri-Harsha's Ratnavali, Parvati expresses similar emotions to Siva which clearly amuses him.

thnks fr the update.
So now path layed fr the birth of parvati.
it was already mentined in Kalidasa Meghaduta & Boddhisattva tht Ganga had a huge crush on Mahadev and parvati was really jealous of Ganga.
Even taking Ganga into consideration thier were fights between Shiva-Parvati.
She is consort of all three deities of Hinduisim - Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesh.
So trust the cv's.
they r showing the current storyline up to the mark and is properly authentic because i hv already read both Kalidasa Meghaduta & Boddhisattva.

Kalidas was a poet. Poets & writers are apperciated for their imaginary work. If they are taking his writings seriously as a puranic event , then why Kalidas, each & every writer who has written about Shivji, Ganga, Parvati should be taken seriously & shown in the show. The version we are watching is imaginative too many times, but in the end they show the Purana's story mostly. Hope they stick to the original version.

That's right! I also posted some other stories about Parvati's jealousy (from Puranic sources) on the Ganga-Shiva thread. 😃

Let's wait for the next epi. to judge that look of Ganga. This show has very silly, insane timeline as far as some(many) incidents are concered. There was a long gap between Shivji-Sati's marriage & Sati's death, they showed it as 7 days period only. So don't be surprised about Parvati's birth happening so soon.

what are they going to show in the meantime? this show is mostly about mahadev and his sansarik life. Also they do not have unlimited budget to bring in all sorts of purana stories.
