After my second reading , I got a theory ; it's probably wrong but here goes:

When a person commits suicide , their soul lingers around ; as if it's lost , as if it's waiting for revenge or justice. Manyata believes that she died that night that she attempted suicide. She thinks that she is a life-less soul now , waiting for Uday to learn his lesson. She got shocked when they made love ... and she could actually feel him

well she is not alive, she is manyata not piya, piya was just her temporary name😉 she got life only for that night, as she always wanted to love him, but wasn't that lucky!!😭

I think that the person at the end who called her out by her name was DS. Maybe she discovered that her grand-daughter survived.
