The walk in the moonlight

She woke up with a shudder, and looked around. Her room looked like a golden cage lost in the mists of darkness.

The bedside clock was wondering itself in to the midnight, this was the tenth time she woke up from that disgusting dream, he was right she couldn't sleep. Her feet touched the cold floor smoothly as she went near the window. The moon was gleaming, its rays had made the window glass look silver, and she listened to the whispering silence in her room.
The absence of Jay's usual slow breathing made it hard to tolerate, for the first time she wasn't happy that jay went to sleep in her own room. She needed her Nandu very badly tonight. She could feel his fingers wondering over her shoulders, like real she could feel their warmth and she grabbed the bars of her window more tightly.
Wind coming from that open window felt like his breath, she shuddered at the thought. Why couldn't she take her mind off him?
Her phone beeped jerking her out of those thoughts.
"Yeah Jagat?"
"Will you listen to this?"
"What?" She snapped at him, "Don't tell me you've got some stupid lyrics ready for me to listen"
"Very true" Jagat laughed at her. "Now listen like a good girl Ok?"
"Hmm"
"Look in to the mirror of your heart
There you will find my sight
Listen to the gust that plays with your hair
There you will hear me right
Close your eyes take my hand
Let us walk in moon light"
Manyata dropped her phone. Something broke inside her. She picked it up again with shaking fingers. Jagat was already asking her whether everything was alright.
"You didn't write that" She stated blankly.
"Nah" Jagat agreed. "I never told you so, I've told you to listen"
"But..but" She stammered. "Where did you find it?"
"In an old story book you lend me, some childish scrabble"
"Tear the page and throw it away!"
Jagat sound worried when he talked again.
"Why Manyata, what's the problem?"
"Please tear it, please"
And she disconnected the phone.
Sitting in her table she buried her face in her hands.
"Even after all those years…oH why god why?" She sobbed to herself, "Why can't you just leave…just leave and let me…forget you…why don't you?"
She sobbed in to the ruthless night.

"She won't forget" uday said turning his glass over and watching the light dance in the edge of the glass. "Because I won't let her forget"
"Dada!" Unnati said as the glass broke in to pieces in his hand. Uday looked up his eyes gleaming dangerously.
"She doesn't know me that well choti!!" His lips twisted in to a grin that feared Unnati even more.
"But dada"
"She'll soon learn the lesson of her life"
"But Manyata is…"
"Princess!" He said turning to face his sister.
"Call her princess, that'll remind you what game she used to play with the three of us"
"But.."
"Call her princess till she remains a one and that won't be for long"
His eyes fell on his bleeding hand and he smirked a little.
"Let her live her dream a little longer and then…"
"Dada" Unnati took the seat beside him and took his hand,
"You can't deny that she's changed…even you fall in love with her!"
"I can't deny that she's improved" Uday corrected her.
"She's very much improved that she played my game against me"
"So, " Unnati said seeing that this argument was leading to nowhere,
"You're going to say no to the marriage?"
"Who told you that?" Uday asked surprised,
"No well I just thought it to be so"
"Why should I refuse a chance for our princess to gain some old memories huh?"
"But if you're so upset about that…"
"I am upset?" Uday raised his eyebrows at her, "No choti I'm not upset, I'm angry and I hate her for what she did, and soon enough I'll make her pay"
"You can't be happy hating her dada" She placed her hand in his shoulder with moist eyes. "Because you love her and we both know that"
"I will never love a murderer" Uday said jerking away her hand, "I will never love someone who brought tears to mom's eyes, I will never love someone who killed…"
"Dada but you did"
"The girl I loved wasn't princess Manyata" Uday said firmly, "And princess Manyata was my enemy, she is my enemy and she will remain so in the future"
He stood up to leave.
"You can't deny one thing dada" Unnati muttered watching him leave. "That you two are made for each other, and maybe it was that destiny which made her a murderer" She sighed. "Only god knows what he's planning with you two"

Jagat opened his door next morning to find Manyata standing on his doorstep.
"Where's that book?"
"What book?" He asked rubbing his eyes.
"The book which I gave you, the book in which that lines were written"
"Don't tell me you came here in the early morning to get that"
"Jagat try to understand, I want it back NOW!"
"Alright alright"
He invited her inside and started searching for the book.
"Manyata"
"Where is it?"
"Will you kill me?"
"What do you MEAN?"
"It's not here anymore"
"What do you MEAN BY NOT HERE ANYMORE???"
"It's gone"
"JAGAT!!!"
"Please, I'll buy you a new one, exactly the same, a Romeo Juliet classic"
"Oh god NO" Manyata ran away shutting the door behind her,
Jagat stood there clueless about what was happening to his best friend.

Her car wasn't starting, she smacked the steering wheel. A voice sang softly from her back seat,

She panicked this time more than ever before. Her face turned white and he enjoyed the effect.
"Told you you're not so brave as you look"
She took a deep breath.
"What are you doing in my car?"
"Offering you a ride, as it seems your car fails to give me any"
"Just leave me alone"
"Can't do that now can we, being fiancs legally" He added after a moment.
"You aren't my fianc"
"Well I wasn't once upon a time, and do you remember how the title landed in my head?"
She gasped at him and stepped out. He followed her.
"LEAVE!"
"Now now," He said rising his eyebrows, "Keep your voice low and sweet, I hate loud noises"
"I don't care what you love and what you HATE!!!"
He grabbed her waist and pulled not giving her a second to work out what he was doing. Soon she was trapped in a painful hold.
"Very soon you'll learn to care, to care very very much"
"LET ME GO!!"
"Shhh!"
The remaining colors left her face.
"Yuvraj Udayveer Singh isn't used to loud voices, got it?"
She said nothing, her breathing level had increased into a nonstop beat now, and she felt numb and frozen.
"Let me go" She whispered after a moment.
"Very good" He nodded nudging her nose. "You learn fast don't you wify?"
She frowned at him.
"And as for letting you go" He continued, "No I don't think so"
He grasped her wrist letting go of her waist and dragged her to his car.
"Get in" He said shortly.
She did what she was told as her mind had refused to think anymore. He drove away from Jagat's front garden.
"But" She said after a moment. "You didn't ask me where I was going"
"Because you're not going where you were"
Her eyes widened.
"What?"
He leaned in as much as the seat belt would allow and smirked.
"You should have asked me before joining"
"Where are we going?" She asked her voice shaking. He said nothing. "Where are you taking me?"
"Manyata" He said in an exhausted voice. "You know that I have no intention to kidnap you don't you?"
"But.."
"You'll soon find out princess all by yourself"
And you will regret accompanying me, he thought for himself.
