Paradoxically, Car market is seeing a line of new small car models and at the same time Motorbike makers are going to launch new and high end (250cc +) bikes..for example Kawasaki is coming out with Kawasaki Ninja 250cc, Bajaj is already there with its Pulsar 220cc, Suzuki is planning the same, Honda..Yamaha. They all the launching their high end bikes in India. Interesting times for bikers.

Am not sure if this point was raised. Arn't small cars energy efficient, specially if one passenger commute is concerned instead of driving big cars with low mileage up and down to work ?

Just compare someone driving 8 seater for work daily Vs small car ? if the safety standards are met then ..factoring out the price shouldn't small car market should be promoted? just a thought...
