Has tata collaborated with Mattel for this car.. 😆 Our roads dont need any more cars....I think Tata should make those motorized scooters with optional canopy.. People will reach to work faster and there will be lesser traffic.....anyway better than having one car for ammy, one for abbu, one for babli and one for pappu 😆

We are talking about 1 Lakh here, which is still a lot of money for an average Indian.. 😛

Yes...and with the taxes it will surely be another 50,000 Rs... it's a lot for an average Indian, but I think people who can't afford cars and take their wife and kids on the two wheeler might settle for this 😊

Precisely what I wanted to say...No personal cars for bablu, taplu, and their amma and abba...We are not talking about candies being sold at 10 paise a piece😆

😆

A paisa (pl. paise) is a monetary unit currently equivalent to 1/100 of a rupee or Bangladeshi taka and is used in several countries, including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Pakistan. Variant spellings include poisha (especially in Bangladesh), and pice, (during British rule).

What?? 1 Lakh is just a few months salary?? Even if that was so, what about the day to day expenses???And who are you talking about here???I am talking about an average Indian who makes the majority of India's population...An average Indian is lower middle class, with limited means and also limited risk taking capability and will barely able to accumulate 1lakh+tax....

i am talking about the bare necessities of life for everyone.. A car, a cell phone, and tv with cable.. and possibly internet.... i am feeling bad for the roads though....10 paise....i googled and indeed it has a cool shape!!! why dont they make designer coins like those anymore. US should take some inspiration there from us...then there is a square shaped coins..etc... were all these coins inspired by cookie makers or what?

ok here i am talking about the people. Most of the people in dharavi in mumbai, jhumri talaiya, tiruchirupolly.Pathrakunwa, chaura, kolharia, sonbhadra and chandauli.etc etc etc...aspire for all these things...you can live without everything but without cable TV it would be just a live torture i would say...If you look at govt there is union of civil servants, others so they cant be earning less than lakh..private companies pay well. so anybody who is earning less than a lakh.. should take up a night job at call centers after they have taken an accent training and go for that car.....😆

🤣 wow...best logic so far in favor of Nano

this one deserves a

I concede...😆

Long live Nano and Tatas!

Whatever costs less is good if it brings value. But then, things dont stay that way. The Maruti 800 was priced very less when it came in the initial days. There were other cars such as the Dolphin whose starting price was as less as Rs.60,000 or so (my dad told me that), and this same Dolphin which was made of very delicate material became Rs. 2.4 lakhs odd.

Instead of it being a Chinese make item at Rs.1 Lakh (which is what China promised), I and my whole gang of friends are happy that it is an Indian make Nano. Bravo India, Bravo Tata, Bravo Nano, Bravo TELCO

Once Nano is launched I think second hand cars' rates will drop and Maruti 800/Alto/Santro price'll also see a fall.

Does India need it?
Pros:
1. I beleive a large segment of Indian population will now be able to afford a car. Almost everyone over a poverty line will be able to afford it
2. If Tata is making it a lot of the income goes to an Indian company which benefits Indian treasury in return
Cons:
1. IMO as a country we should be moving more towards public transport since we have very little land mass and the population is too much for it, and there is no way we can afford over 60%-70% population with a car with the roads and the gas prices where they are. If you think the number is too high just look at the usage of cell-phone's in India
2. Pollution is going to increase by many folds
3. Taxi-auto rickshaw are going to be hit badly with this.
4. Every college kid who now drives a bike will now move onto a car, more rash drivers

I think there are more cons to this, but we as a nation cant stop fellow citizens from enjoying a pleasure of life, instead the govt should work to get the infrastructure in place

If it takes you less time to go by a bus/train, is far cheaper, most people would rather leave their car's at home
