The partition went completely and totally wrong...till this day I still don't get why we agreed to, the only answer I have is power-hungry politicians! Britain was in tight position at that time, it was losing colonies and had bad situation bak home so if we had fought an year more, we wouldn't have to separate India into two. But nope those stupid politicians wanted to divide it so that they could rule! What people don't realize is how many people lost their homes, families, and what not! My family moved from Pakistan to Punjab, and we still don't know what happened to so many people in the family! So, I think it brought a lot of harm and who knows if we hadn't parted, we never would fight over J&K and so much terrorism wouldn't be there!

I still believe that partition didn't make a difference because as I said mentality of people is same. No country can force people to do things a different way. If minds are filled with hatred then nothing can be done. So living together or in separate nations nothing matters as long as underlying hatred is present.

Politicians do make matters worse but people do create instances for them to add fuel. It is funny to blame politicians for everything. I have seen people posting some strong content on their own without any influence.

Now should we still blame politicians for such hatred?

Well, I am not trying to blame everything on politicians for everything. But according to me in this case, it was politicians fault. Yes, people had problems with each other due to religion but we still that have in our country and all over the world. But that was not a good enough reason to break a country apart into two. And they divided it into half so that both parties of politicans can have a win-win situation by getting the power that they wanted. But in all of this no one thought about how it would affect so many people and how much harm it did. So, No I am not blaming politicians for everything but in this particular case Yes, I do blame them.

p.s. That post is stupid and people are being silly for fighting over where or how an actress wants to act!

easy to blame politicians on both sides for the partition. but imo most of the dubious honor should go to jinnah. read Freedom At Midnight (banned in Pakistan) to get the british side of the story. jinnah was someone they despised, considered power hungry, and whose ambitions they were unable to contain. jinna and his hindu (or was it parsi) doctor also hid the fact from the world that he was dying. if the british had known that truth, they would have stalled the proceedings. jinnah had sort of given them the ultimatum. it's nice to dump on the british for everything, but i wonder what spin folks can come up with for any incentive they might have had to divide india. at the end it seemed they just wanted to leave a good legancy and were troubled by what went on.

the newbies there sounded like trouble maker MIDs to me. 😕. but yes, there is deep-rooted hatred among some individuals (luckily not all), which is for here to stay & is painful.

Cause of partition...two power hungry people: Jinnah and nehru. They both wanted to rule the country so division happened and the cause of division was served right then and there.
