I think donations are a good thing..There are lots of issues that need monetary help so why not...I truely believe that actors get everything from public so why not give back to the community that gave back to them. Moreover, since they are such public personalities, they can inspire others to pick causes and donate too. I mean if people didn't watch their movies, they would not be where they are today. So, I think this applies to everyone, we should all pick a cause! I think my two major causes are brest cancer awarness and child education in India. And I think everyone needs to donate and pick a cause and help out. We get a lot from our community so it is our duty to pay back to it.
As for donating to religious places, it's your choice. I know my family does it but I am not religious so I don't care much about it.
But the question about donating to individuals..to me it sounds more like begging and I don't believe in it...everyone needs to earn their hard earned money instead of scrapping off of others...donate to causes that require attention but not to individuals that don't do anything!
