Why cann't two individuals of almost the same age having friendly relationationship treat with neutral point of view by society?.........because when two individuals of opposite sex are friends...the society always thinks that something must be going on between the two...and many times it does happen...ki teri meri dosti pyaar mein badal gayi...😆....such instances cloud the judgement of the society..

No factual info but whatever read or known such relationships are subjected to suspicion.....yess they are for the same reason mentioned above..how many times on our forum people are accused of flirting even though the same talk with a member of the same sex would'nt raise any eyebrows..

Can individuals of opposite sex but similar age have a friendly relationship, without being questionable to society?......If two people are clean in their minds ...they should'nt worry about what others are saying...the only people mattering should be their near and dear ones...society will always look upon things with suspiscion...and BTW we are the society....i can say for myself that i have been blessed with a wonderful and understanding husband....i always had more male friends but i was clean in my heart...amd usually my friends become my hubby's friend too.....the important thing is to be truthful to one's own self.....kucch to log kehenge ...logon ka kaam hai kehna...😆

I am digressing a bit here, but what I am trying to say is its not entirely the "society" seeing it in a different way,it is different.

no according to me i'll be able to share the same emotional intimacy with a friend of the opposite sex as that with the same sex.......there are things that i cannot share with anyone.other than with my husband..whether its a GF or a male friend.....the things that i can discuss i can discuss with both a close male or female friend...it has ofcourse nothing to do with the society...

Coming to your point, its upto the individuals of course as to what they want in that relationship.But as a social being and living in the society, we follow certain norms.So would this be acceptable in the Indian context?

Agree with you Tans there... And kinda agree with Qwerts too.... Sex is so overrated an emotion but it may just only be an act... If there has to be a friendship between man/woman and they both like each other very much including physical aspects of each other then sex becomes an extension of that friendship given their opp genders...After all friendship means going all the way...

Had an interesting meeting with a brother of a friend who is gay and a wedding dress designer in NYC for some high profile clients and I can see why he has soooo many female friends...😆 He is so friendly and easy to talk to and women just love him... now this is called platonic friendship with a guy...😉😆
