Used to tell all this behind my father and mother's back. It still breaks my heart.

My cousins have same problem

Her elder sis hates her because all matches went for her. Younger sis loves her sis but she doesnt talk to her.

First family, then outsiders. It must have taken a toll hearing that your younger sis is more pretty

Rudeness deserve rudeness. He never barked again

The idea of respecting elders needs to go . When they don't know how to respect others

Suhana's message is perfect. We've been conditioned to feel insecure about our skin tone all our life. Advertisements, TV shows, friends, neighbours, our own families have made comments on our skin color one way or another. If you're fair, you're asked to stay away from the sun, cover yourself. If you get a tan, you're asked to get rid of it immediately. If you're dark, everyone and anyone gives "remedies" to get a "better" skin tone.

Having said that, if someone wants to get a procedure done to lighten their skin tone, not due to any kind of pressure but for their own self. And if that makes that person feel better then go for it. There's nothing shameful about it. This is also a problem. Stop judging people who get skin treatments, tummy tucks, surgical procedures etc. If they have the money to change one part of their appearance and it makes them feel good about themselves then please let them do it. We're here on this Earth for a very short time. It's best to enjoy it to the fullest.

Yup. A lot of people don't need much of an incentive to opt for surgeries if they have enough money. Kardashians don't get nose jobs or maintain their fountain of youth over internet loiterers who troll them. Neither did Sridevi's daughters get the button nose jobs because they were trolled online. They got it done before they even started their careers. These people do it out of their own volition because they are vain and love to look good, not because they get trolled by some internet loiterers.

People seem to assume that there is no such thing as free will and everything they do is a direct result of people's comments online but that's not the case. Trying to pass the baton of responsibility to online trolls isn't effective cuz they will always be there no matter how progressive we like to believe we are. It's better to develop a thick skin and insulate yourself if you are aspiring to be a celebrity with a public platform, especially in this era that's dominated by social media.

😆 Way to shut him up. Some desi uncles and aunties love to take the respect and courtesy from younger generation for granted and walk all over us. They don't realize that respect needs to be earned to a certain extent too and age alone can only take them so far.

Most of the indian citizens are under educated.

Its hard for them to understand that skin tone depends on the nature and climate ....and countries near earths equator will have darker skins and people near the poles will have lighter..there is nothing to shame someone because of this...idiotic world we live in

I'm saying don't trash people for having a certain preference. If someone likes fair skinned people then don't judge them for it. Questioning every preference that one has is not the way to go about this.

Liking/preferring something should be a simple activity not complicated by playing devil's advocate with yourself.

Isolate the problem. People who discriminate against dark skinned individuals should be targeted. That's the mind set that is problematic.

I'll give you an example. My friend who is very fair and conventionally beautiful married a dark skinned guy. A lot of people congratulated her for being "open minded" and "progressive". That's ridiculous! "Fair" people are not superior and are not doing a favor by marrying/dating a dark skinned person! Let's not start congratulating people for not having prejudices against a certain skin colour.

It has happened to me. I was skinny and there were so many jokes about a gust of wind blowing me away and my parents not feeding me enough. My uncles and aunts had a lot of fun at my expense. It affected me a lot but there was nothing I could do about it.

Now I'm not skinny and suddenly I'm beautiful and pretty for the same uncles and aunts. None of the compliments matter because the damage that their jokes/off handed comments did is far too deep and irreparable.

I don't want to judge Suhana for her father's choices. But we are here in BWF. Suhana is no body, but daughter of SRK ,who hasn't even stepped into the industry. Why post this gram? Where are the mods now who closed threads on children not related to BW? Media, mods just want us to discuss these starkids.

Since this discussion has gone on for more than 10 pages, let me add my 2c. Let SRK come out publicly and apologize for his actions of endorsing a fairness cream. A man who is worth several hundred millions of $$, still endorses Fair n Handsome to this day. For what? Money? If he watches his daughter getting trolled, getting bashed since she was 12 for being dark, what kind of father is he that he still endorses something which tells Indians that dark is not handsome/beautiful? I can understand a newcomer endorsing a fairness cream ,just to propel their career but for SRK at this stage to still endorse it is pathetic to the core. Shame on him.

Suhana comes off so much mature than her father over here.
