Mard ho ke ladkiyo wali cream- wow! In a country where women are considered to be beneath the men, a superstar mouthing such crappy dialogs and endorsing it. Wow, just wow! 🤢

As a rather dark person, in India it is just a preference-a very, very strong preference. But until a few decades ago, in western societies being dark meant that you were "lesser" than white humans.

There is a big difference between the two-the closest I can think of is our caste system.

Preference is what it is -within white people they prefer a certain type of hair or body shape etc. Surprisingly in Hispanic communities too there is a preference for whiter skin tone-they seem to be a mix of whites and local native americans over centuries and slaves brought in too.

It is complicated and some people seem to equate both as same-which is not. Dark people in india never had to use separate toilets or water fountains, refused vote etc. But a strong preference is there-especially for us women.

You're mistaken in thinking it is just a *preference.* Dark has been thought of as inferior worldwide, including India for a long time. Take Rig Veda where Indra boasts of beating back the dark hordes. He even calls Krishna an asura because of dark color.

At least since then, dark has usually been depicted as evil, even cannibalistic. No, a few exceptions here and there were not the norm.

It continues to the modern era. Open any Amar Chithra Katha comic book. Watch BW films, regional films.

It's soothing to think of all this as foreign-brought, but until the time someone's willing to take a good, hard look at themselves, change will not happen.

Where are the mods now who closed threads on children not related to BW? Media, mods just want us to discuss these starkids.

Since this discussion has gone on for more than 10 pages, let me add my 2c. Let SRK come out publicly and apologize for his actions of endorsing a fairness cream. A man who is worth several hundred millions of $$, still endorses Fair n Handsome to this day. For what? Money? If he watches his daughter getting trolled, getting bashed since she was 12 for being dark, what kind of father is he that he still endorses something which tells Indians that dark is not handsome/beautiful? I can understand a newcomer endorsing a fairness cream ,just to propel their career but for SRK at this stage to still endorse it is pathetic to the core. Shame on him.

Suhana comes off so much mature than her father over here.

I'm sorry, but what? Children of stars are directly related to Bollywood. Suhana was on the cover of Vouge. Kareena's child is consistently paraded by her through bollywood.

LOL. Her dad's best friend is obsessed with color. Maybe you should talk to him? We went out to England to find a surrogate just so he could have TWO white kids.

Ya but according to BWF rules the mods close some threads, leave some open. Mods themselves dont know what the rules are. Suhana and Taimur are not part of BW as yet.

Discussion about personal life of actors

Yes we allow personal discussion of actors but please do understand the limit. Please don't discuss about their family or friends who are not associated with Bollywood.

While KJo *is* obsessed with fair skin, where did SRK say KJo was his bestie?

I think most SRK fans also would vehemently disagree 😆

As an SRK fan, I don't disagree with my statement. KJO and SRK are besties. He protected SRK from PC.
