The basis for my arguments is that if someone is doing it out of love.....they are not suffering like u said....like I said if its FORCED on u its bad.....but for millions of us who are not being forced...but still do it because we want to .....how is it bad.....I am not going around asking anyone else to do it....I am not suffering in the process...I just feel happy and satisfied....why should anyone have objection to that??
Never ever did I say don't do it or don't find joy in it. In fact, to quote myself "masochists who feel joy, fulfillment, and sense of community by ritual fasting then they have full and complete freedom to do so." You do you. I fully support whatever people want to do to themselves out of their own volition.
I think you're hung up and upset that I call it masochism.
Here is my logic.
Asphyxiation = suffering. Being bound and gagged = suffering. Finding pleasure in acts that would be suffering to most others = masochism. Sometimes people engage in masochism out of love.
Starvation = Suffering. Fasting = Timed and temporary starvation. You draw the conclusion.
And I say the same of all fasting. Be it religious, intermittent, or juice cleanse.
