Ok. I will give the pravachan.
Replace any names with X and Y.
1. If X fasts Y's lifespan does not increase. Any belief that the lifespan increases is balderdash.
2. Hypothetically, even if X can increase Y's lifespan by fasting, there is zero good reason why X should suffer for Y's benefit.
3. Even if X suffered and extended Y's lifespan, what if later Y is alive and bitter and alone.
4. If X and Y made a commitment based on equity then any fasting or life-extending should be mutual and not exclusive to X or Y.
5. The only time X or Y or any third party Z should fast is if they have a medical procedure like a blood test that requires overnight fasting.
6. If X or Y or any third party Z are masochists who feel joy, fulfillment, and sense of community by ritual fasting then they have full and complete freedom to do so. But don't bullshit around it. Admit that you are masochists who love to join other masochists in the thralls of ritual fasting.
