Hello friends. This is my first post here so do excuse any mistakes.

It maybe too early to discuss but last year in May, whole on India brought in a change in the government. But what do you think the major changes in India should be to make this a better place altogether? I feel Modi is trying to create an awareness amongst us, but I think steps need to be taken. On the other hand, when I say steps need to be taken, we have to see it from the POV of the men in power too. Bringing about a change means taking of a huge risk, and that may result in the people who are being deprived of the benefits may turn against a party. Since BJP is now in majority in the Parliament, I would like to discuss with you all, what you all feel can be done?
Today's politicians do work not for the country first but for themselves first. First they need to secure their position in the Parliament and then can they think of doing something only if it would not loosen their power. But this way things will not change. I feel very slow and clever moves should be taken. But it is the people with whom the ultimate power lies, and so I just thought maybe having a discussion/debate here would be nice. Hope you all will share your views. Eagerly waiting to discuss.
After all, it is we who should change, and we who should feel and think.

Every government needs time to make change. Problem is media will focus on some biased story and repeat it again and again and some section of minority thinks its hindu government and it will only work against them.

Anyways one of the program that Modi government started was Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) in which Members of Parliament from both Houses adopted village and fixed its develop its infrastructure and here is a great example if MP want to work they can do anything. Sachin Tendulkar transformed one of the Andra Pradesh village that was adopted under SAGY scheme.

I
I guess it will be better if the position of girls is increased. I think best is to actually make girls learn karate/gun fighting and some self defense task and not only stitching and cooking. Most schools in rural areas focus more on needle craft and not shooting. If girls learn to be confident and protect themselves It will work out. Girls are strong enough. It is this male dominated society whixh underestimates them.

I totally second your thoughts about Modi's work in Guajrat but one thing we should keep in mind - Gujarat was a state. India is a country and the Parliament has people from other parties. Here the work is much much dofficult than doing it in only your state.

Indian govt has banned vehicles older than 10 years old in Delhi. 10 years is nothing. Is this done to revive bankrupt city Detroit?
There should be pollution checks especially on Tata vehicles which are major polluters, trucks and autos.

ANd guess what, GMOs are far more dangerous for health. I have not seen any govt chamchas on twitter talking about GMOs because ppl on social media are not stupid. Deviously only talking to uneducated kisans about GM dhal and GM kela.

ANd now TRAI wants to control the internet under the pretext of kids accessing po*n sites or whatever. But folks, your freedom of speech is at risk. Truth exhuming blogsites whill be banned or the content will take forever to load.

Now we are buying Dassault jets to save them from bankruptcy. All other countries rejected these expensive and inferior 4th gen fighters when 5th gen are available except Egypt and that too only because of huge kickbacks. Sukhoi is the best fighter jet with no kill switch but no kickbacks for politicians.

Govt wants temple gold. Why? In a secular country, why not take mosque and church donations also?

Earlier, RBI governor changed all the Indian gold reserves and said that we need new gold. Tell me friends. Is old gold bad? StraussKahn of IMF had exposed the fake gold at Fort Knox and was fixed by a honey pot.

These fake gold bars are made of tungsten with only gold plating on the outside. Now they have an eye on Indian temple gold. All will know of the huge amount of gold unearthed at Padmanabhaswamy temple. EVen there some gold is missing already.

Good to see you here😆.

IMHO, they should limit themselves to doing what individuals cannot do on their own and let the people exercise their God given freedom (provided it does not impinge on the rights of others). Indians have proven themselves very enterprising when given the freedom to be so

And the first among those rights and the most important in this case is they should be allowed to vote acc to their own choices 😆 (Padukone forgot to tell us that it is My choice I will vote Modi or Gandhi 😆 )
I guess the problem is that brings a threat to the rights of the people in the government itself :P these people are so scared to take risks IMHO.

CHANGE is a long process and my opinion "governance" is a continuous process that needs to be redefined continuously as long as we exist as a social entity.

Right now, I think the change must start at the level of citizenry. This again, the government must take the responsibility of. Sensitizing people about the value of citizenship, inculcating principles of social responsibility, civil conduct, values of integrity, righteousness etc.
If you observe most people today, they are irresponsible themselves and criticize the govt. for failing at this and that, for being slow, for being corrupt etc. I think we need to behave like responsible citizens before criticizing govt. From what I have seen a fraction, negligible minority are really concerned. And mind you, the yellow journalism everywhere these days is creating a false impression of 'responsiblity'. They just know how to overhype some tiny clause in the legislations, report every rape case, corruption case...that is for their TRPs.

Change at the individual-level is what I needed. We have laws, legislations, schemes, but neither are we righteous and dutiful, nor the people who implement the laws. As aware and educated citizens if we are righteous and demand proper implementation of laws, the executive will also change :)
Unless the citizenry at large change, the change you want will be a distant dream.

Edit --- Modi Sarkar or whatever sarkar...they keep changing every 5 years. Change in the civilians will have it's effect in future generations to come. They can reap much benefits if we begin to change now. But I doubt this will ever happen.

I feel the Modi government has brought a fresh breeze of air and changes will occur. Of course it cannot be done momentously, and they need to time.
Nevertheless, I have high hopes.
