but still the no. of hits they had at that time was far more then today...the competion wasnt cut throat at that time.. people took their own time to do things....jeetendra and dharmendar are good examples...they didnt know the ABC of acting .. but just were/are due to their good looks

I think Dharmendra was a great actor. But unfortunately, he was never ever used in the right way by any director, barring a few. He was amazing in films like Anupama and Satyakaam, and he was hillarious in Chupke Chupke.....

i am sorry i disagree with you that he was a great actor.... if he was that great why in 30 plus career span u have just 3 movies to talk about that too with great directors like gulzar or Hrishi da....

Oh Minnie,
You are so right! You are always so astute and fair.
Hrishi Da and even Gulzar used him but not enough. HE unfortunately spent most time, "Kutteyyyyyyyyy, kamineyyyyyy, main tera khoon pee jaaonga" roles. Oh, and yes! When he started pairing up with heroins his son had paied with earlier, that was in poor taste - poor in Biblical proprtion!

And you are a magician with words. "poor in biblical proportion".....😆

Yes 😆 and in those roles he was so obnoxiously bad that he was a complete put off. My father can't stand him because of his 'kutte kamine' dialouges 😆. I personally think he over did himself in Sholay, but perhaps it was his overacting which became the perfect foil for Amitabh's brilliant satire in the movie - the famous line - 'nautanki saala'

May be they should run credits like 'Introducing Donkey' or '...and above all - Donkey (from falaaN movie)' or 'in a very special appearance: Donkey (as Donkey). '

That way we know if it is a Donkey that we have seen before or a new talent. I mean, if they give credits to dogs and elephants; why not Donkeys?

But I gotta tell you. If you have noticed the same donkey in 25 movies, you have a remarkable talent for observation and a memory like an iron-trap.

👏 👏 Dr. Shukla great sense of humor...

The donkey that comes to mind is the one from movie Shrek!!!! Eddie Murphy's voice wasn't bad either.!!!!!

i liked Abhi's performance in phir Milenge, Yuva (although i thought sum aprts were over dun)and sarkar also dhoom lets hope that with each of his film he learns not to over do his role, but i think he has potential but perhaps the limelight is getting to him as his new looks have taken the world by a storm. Also Big b is der for him in very step of the way to help him out.
oh and as for Jeetu he was well known for his dancing around and Dharmendra-his hair do, the dialogues and good looks all the old relatives i have and the ol ppl i kw they never liked them as actors always thought they were good looking ppl, but i have to say i liked jeetu in many films acting wise and dharmendra

Abhishek Bachan is definitely not overrated. He has the scope to do some great acting. In fact I think Abhishek Bachan would probably do a much better job in Don than Shah Rukh Khan. Not because he is Amitabh Bachan's son but because of the fact he grounded. When we talk about a great actor not only do we talk about how he individually acts and does his roles but also how his chemistry is with other actors and how his role allows other people to shine as well. He does NOT need to shave. Shaving his facial hair will give him a weak look. Look at Kuch Na Kaho. He was great in the movie, very funny...but because of no facial hair his face looked weak and his love expressions looked like he was constantly in constipation. We don't want a sick Abhi but a healthy and robust Abhi. One of the things I like best about him is that he is so real. He's the type of boy that I wouldn't mind bringing home to mom and dad. Who wouldn't fall in love with a happy go lucky boy from KANK who obviously loves you to death. I don't know why anyone would choose a cynical, defeated guy over a bubbly personality.
