statistically, if you are playing the averages, then obviously yes. a priori, i dont expect that teenager going through an impressionable impetuous youth to be more mature than someone who has seen more of life. latter experiences usually come from more time on earth. yes, yes, there are exceptions. lots of them. but true on average imo

Maturity is not at all related to age. One can be 8 years old and be more mature than a 20 year old. Maturity in my view is what one feels and does. Maturity is also thinking about others before yourself at times.

not always.

But experiences definitely make a person mature (if he/she learns from them wisely).

I don't think that maturity is directly proportional to age, but these two entities are surely proportional to each other in one way or other.

The dictionary says that maturity is "full development; perfected condition". Now, I genuinely don't think that a 13 year old has had enough experiences in her/his life to be in a perfected condition. Of course, we meet 40-50 year old people who make worse decisions than a 15 year old might, but that does not necessarily make the younger one mature. It only shows the immaturity of the older one. 😉

The one opinion that I see on rise today is that kids are maturing faster than they used to 20 years ago. I absolutely don't think so. Maybe, they are exposed to more things than before and they are expected to be mature soon, but most of the times, these teens are not mature. They think that they are and eventually form an opinion that they know-it-all and that leads to trouble.

I think I am quite mature but I won't say that I have attainted maturity in the truest form because I have not had my share of good/bad experiences yet. It is wrong to expect maturity at young age in most cases. Of course, generalizations are wrong... I have seen some really immature oldies and some classy mature youngesters 😊.

I think In india /Pak kids mature slowly compare to US...........In US age 13/14 girls and boys go out with their girl friends n boy friends and watch n learn lot of high level things .....They growing in that way ...But in our countries standard of living gradualy growing may be with in 20,30 year its will change. IF is the best Eg: How many 10/13 year old indian kids (who live in india) login IF, and posting/debating/chating in forum....i think very few...😳

Maturity is related to age.... if u compare with the same person.....

A person might be matured more than the other elder person.... however the same person is more matured than what he was earlier and he will be more matured a few years from now.... so yes his maturity is directly proportional to age 😃
