Well said summer bhai😃If we are confident about our own path we need not become offended by what others say.

I love the Buddhist teaching( not that it is not mentioned by other religions):
Right Understanding

To see things in clear light without prejudice, preference or self interest. Perhaps placing ourselves in the shoes of the other might provide a clearer view.
We may think that someone is unreasonable while the other thinks we are being unfair. Often our judgement is clouded by perhaps self interest and self preservation.

Christ taught "Love thy enemy" . Is it practical in this age? What is its true meaning?
Even if we cannot oblige a person we can speak nicely, there is no need to be nasty about it or pour abuse.
Doing what is right and proper is perhaps best, still misunderstandings cannot be avoided due to the deluded restless mind and nature of certain persons. If jealousy rears her head then it is war 😆

Or at times there are old grudges, wounds and unsettled scores. Perhaps karma has a role here.
Okay gotta rush to work now.

This is a real story about the great philosopher Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

Once a mother of a small boy came to paramahamsa and complained about her son that he eats a lot of jaggery everyday. She tried everything possible to make him stop eating the jaggery including beating him, giving him something else in exhange. But all her efforts were futile and she was ready to give up on him. Paramahamsa listened intently to her concerns , thought for a while and requested her to come back after 2 weeks.

Feeling a bit depressed , the mother thought , the great saint had some thing in mind and left.

She came back exactly after 2 weeks and asked paramahamsa to do something about the problem her kid has.

Paramahamsa took the boy on his lap and told him that eating jaggery (unrefined sugar) is not good for health and too much sweet is not a good thing. He asked the boy to stop eating the jaggery. He then told the mother that the boy hopefully will stop eating jaggery and so she can leave now.

The mother got angry. She said "I travelled so far with my kid not once but twice anticipating that you will do something about the issue , but all you did was to ask him not to eat. You could have done the same thing the last time I visited you."

Paramahamsa said " I am really sorry to make you travel twice, but I had my own reasons. You see I used to eat jaggery everyday when you last visited. The reason I asked you to come after two weeks was because I wanted to stop eating jaggery before I ask your son not to eat."

IMO , in the virtual world especially on a section like DM the IDs would best be considered age, region and gender neutral. Per Eric Berne's Transactional Analysis more than the chronological age of a person its the type of ego- child/parent /adult that is at work during any type of communication between two individuals. Neither type is good or bad, Its the combination of Transaction Stimulus and Transaction Reaction that is at play during the communication that determines which way the communication is headed 😆.

Here's a gist- http://www.psychology4all.com/ta.htm Self analysis could be fun . Do give it a try. 😛

yes I read this one before.
Paramhansa was a most remarkable and a very determined person eventhough he never went to school. I love the book "Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna" it truly comes to life as we go through the pages.

A saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .

'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.

'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return. They may end up in divorce courts, for instance.'
