Impatience is due to lack of self control and greed. Seeing the rope for a snake I guess.
In modern times people are constantly hurrying and looking around for short cuts.

I love the freedom from all the nonsense... life is rich bcos there are differences, different attitudes, different opinions, different view... Nobody is superior, nobody is inferior. People are simply different...those who accept this..they can tolerate different situations...😊
Sometime its funny how those who cry "tolerance" and "open-minded" are so intolerant and closed-minded to philosophies other than their own... 😉

Because they are not people, but Sheeple.

I guess the real reason is that all of us are raised in perspective. Not many of us are taught to put ourselves in someone else's shoes and try to figure out how the world looks from their eyes. We see only what we are used. It takes a lot of experience and maturity to stop looking at everything one way, and open eyes to different perceptions. Until we learn to that we are all intolerant and ignorant to some degree.

I believe insecurity or just plain dominating nature. What these people miss is that they do not have to subscribe to the idea that they disagree with. They do not even have to respect these ideas. All they have to do is not attack them.
As someone wisely said - I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. Intolerants do not get it.

One way to find out is to check what makes us fed up. There should be at least 20 reasons 😆

I could come up with a lot more than 20 but should that be cause to turn violent is
the question.

It takes all kinds of people to make the world - rich, poor, smart, dumb, tolerant, rational, sane, irrational, intelligent, arrogant et al...

Sometime its sheer arrogance, even in a rational person, which does not allow people to see reason. The pride in accepting that someone else is making sense and they are being cut to size.

People become so hell bent upon proving their point that they stop being sane and end up being obsessed. History is rife with examples of such idiosyncrasies and the results thereof.

First off, to all the matured and rational members I have ended up offending and demeaning in the last ten pages of the recent WW3 thread that got locked up, let me apologize. I took a more rational and inoffensive approach in the first 26 or so pages when a proper discussion was going, but then lost my head once it took the U-turn. This is not a justification of my behavior, but I'd still like to acknowledge my mistake. If I had the editing option open, I'd edit some of my insulting and irrational posts in the last ten pages. Oh and if anyone who is not worthy of my apology is deluded into believing it's for him/her too, then read my first statement again. 😆

Now to the topic at hand. I am a highly intolerant and hotheaded person in real life. In fact, it is DM that somewhat calmed me down to an extent. Before, I couldn't take opposing viewpoints without crying foul, could not rationally argue with people without attacking them personally or loosing my head, could not even distinguish between bashing and argument, debate and fight, etc. After joining here, I got to see the other side of the coin, found out that my side could be wrong too, and my opposition might have a point as well that I am missing out. I can still get very intolerable and irrational when blood rushes to my head and the rational faculties of my brain stop working temporarily. 😆

Oh, but as for the real question what makes people intolerant? It could be anything ranging from social upbringing to hereditary reasons. However, the root cause, I think, is close-mindedness, the sheer inability to see the other side of the coin, to move from your own perspective and put yourself in another's shoe. Anger may temporarily block people's rational senses and make them intolerant for the moment too. However, people who are actually open-minded will sooner or later calm down, and view things with a more tolerant attitude.
