These days the austerity drive is on amongst politicians while it does have its opponents. There R scores of eg of MPs staying in 7 star hotels, foreigntravels, cars , security, etc all at public expense.But some say that all these R reqd for their post & security . Whats ur opinion about this? Do U think they shud cut down on their expenses from tax payers money or not?

This is the problem with most in India who wish to enjoy the luxury at somebody's cost .....The nation still suffers from inferiority complex & wish to be seen as conservative rather than being progressive.....another thing is all Political person should learn from grass root and Indian grasss root remains in rural India where 70 % people live with out any basic need last 60 years of independence ...😊

All MLAs and MPs seeking re-election must undergo NARCO Analysis on their previous election promises😊

yes spending other people's money is also equivalent to wasting resources. The days of Simple living and High thinking is gone.

This relates to Mr Tharoor's comments I guess and I think he was staying at the 5 star with his own money while his govt quarters were still being vacated by the previous occupant.

Also I think it is kind of ridiculous to suggest a External affairs minister not travel around the world or take his Ambassador car in lugguage to other countries.

What next? Stay at Hilltop Apts in NJ and take NJ Transit over to Penn Station and walk to United Nations bldg😉

hmmm no point in being over lavish.. sure enjoy as a result of ur hard work, but dont waste the hard earned money of the ppl.

So most of you agree that public money shud not B misused for politicians own use. they can spend from their pockets for luxuries.A lil austerity wudnt hurt them after all they R supposed to B ppl's representative.

imagine the high & mighty living under leaking roofs with no electricity, no drinkable water .. its a nightmare many indians face , so mantriji do sumthng before U have to copy that too
