Actually good point you made there, i thought it was 5 wives because Islam has 5 pillars of Islam.
One thing i would like to point out that, practice of more than one wife is not encouraged, the conditions are restricted and in order to marry again one needs an legitimate reason. Nowdays the only reason for having more than one wife is arising because of the sexual desire...this is wrong, totally wrong. Marriage should not be an advantage for the guy to fulfil more sexual desires rather to support..
Also the guy has to do justice to the treatment and treat each one of them equally and fair , for example divide his love and time for each of them equally...now only the prophets, extra-ordinary were able to do that...ordinary people's love would fluctuate and giving each one of them their fair of share is rather impossible...
In such a case, second marriage itself is a sin.
