Why are shows like dahleez so rare

Dahleez was such a welcome departure from the regular stuff on indian television. After a long time got to see professional women who are serious about there profession😊. But such shows are so rare. Is it only due to lack of trps for such shows.?? Hindi movie industry has started experimenting and tv industry especially the gecs are so afraid to try out new concepts. Really sad state of affairs. I m not against the saas bahu shows but every show ultimately falls into the same template. There is no variety.hoping to see more shows lyk dahleez to being taken up by channels and phs.

Dahleez had very good online viewing. It was a very popular show in the UK. It had TRP's better than some leading shows at certain phases of the show. So, the most straight forward answer to your question is, I don't know 😆.

Seems a bit silly to be honest. They should encourage such shows. Slowly they are maybe? But it is frustrating that we have to wait so much to get good content on Tele.

Thanks for the replies , this was my first ever post on IF. Finished watching dahleez recently and was really impressed. The show was definitely made for a niche audience and they have appreciated it. Such shows are an example that indian tv has no dearth of talented writers , actors and directors . All they need some kind of incentive to encourage them to make good use of their creative worth. Hope the appreciation they get provide that . And slowly but steadily the trps will follow suit.

Its difficult to say bcz u never know what TRP aunt will like !
And know importance of Trp to survive in competition for channel ,PH etc 😔

Its not that we r not getting show like Dahleez -finite story with Talented Team ,watch Everest another finite show on Starplus & that was good but didn't get Much TRP like this,so yes tradition is changing at least Ph/Cv/channel is trying to change but as we know at the end its Game of Number but like u said slowly Trp will follow suit,hopefully it will bcz viewers loved finite shows so i guess near future we'll get show like Dahleez 😊

Its of course the mindset of audience who prefer to watch the same thing on loop...different conceptsdp not interest trp aunties i guess...but dahleez was really a great show...i still cant stop watching

Anyone planning to watch Beyhadh???

Thanks for replying😊. I have heard good things about everest. It was made by ashutosh gowarikar if i m not wrong. Some years back yash raj films made some really interesting shows for sony. I saw a couple of them (rishta.com and mahi's way) . They did not manage to get the numbers therefore the experiment was probably shelved. Most of them had potential for a second season. Even star one started with a good variety of shows like siddhant , special squad and remix and sarabhai ofcourse. later on it focussed only on mushy love stories (no offence to their fans though and i know IF has many 😳)and ultimately the channel was revamped into lifeok. Glad to know that sarabhai is making a comeback. Even dahleez has the potential for a second season but knowing its trps doubt if they will take the risk.

Sumtym back i read an article about how the indian audience have got so used to these monotonous never ending sagas. Once addicted to the show they remain loyal to it till it ends.😆 Till then they dont move on to something new. For the makers the show is bringing money and therefore they don't want to end it. Its a vicious cycle. I have seen the so called trp aunties also love the pakistani shows lyk zgh and humsafar. If such shows are made in india then they will definitely get the numbers gradually. It is difficult to ascertain whom to blame.

yes its by ashutosh gowarikar ..oh! no idea about yash raj film & other show ,watched few selected shows only..Don't know hope for the best.. 😊 👍🏼
