I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with Vista Premium Home....1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD...integrated web cam, bluetooth, dvdrw, microphone.. It cost about rs. 45,000.

You can get additional external memory.

You can get a wide variety in laptops, but the problem is that all models become obsolete in just a few weeks or months, so it would be a good idea to go to the company outlets so that you can get an idea whether your laptop is going to last, becoz if a model becomes obsolete then you'll have trouble with both hardware n software.

I have a dell and a Vaio and nothing beats the vaio its a powerhouse of a computer, what a marvel of technology... if you can afford it i'd buy a vaio...but you have to buy the ar series otherwise the other series are a waste of money... i bought a lower end vaio and returned it and bought the dell...

My dell an avg. laptop, i actually think its the new vista thats slowing it down.. but dont know for a fact...

good luck shopping...around...
