If trp is crap then how do they get their salaries??

Like per episode they are given some salary.... where are the directors and all provided the money from...

Also do they get any money from Sonyliv and YouTube views?

They should given that Sony gets monetary benefits from YouTube and you have to have paid subscription for SonyLIV. I’m not exactly advocating to scrap the TRP system but rather I want an overhaul of it. Like I’ve heard in the early 2010s that the TRP system measures 8000 households. What if we increase the number of households? But I don’t think that this will happen because of financial risks.

So what you’re saying that if there was no TRP system the channel employees, the producers, directors, actors would not get salary?

@WolfieCandy5 as per my knowledge their per day, pakage has already been decided and it doesn't completely rely on trp

Well I don't know if TRP ties into salaries. I mean even with bad TRP, reality shows run their full course and all those celebs still get paid. We have lots of big-named celebs who are part of movies or shows that only ever release online and yet they don't take pay cuts.

Much of the online community gets paid based on subscriptions, promotions, and marketing. I mean pick up any movie and any time you see any brand name, that company is paying for that to be there. Like Coca-Cola or Boat or xyz restaurant. No one will put a Coca-Cola can in a movie for free. They'll cover the name or fake the name.

Why do you think CID or Crime Patrol uses weird names like Digigram or Friendbook? Because they don't have copyrights but also because IG and FB didn't pay them. And these companies aren't just paying for the initial use. They're paying for every future use. It's why sometimes what you see on TV or in the theatre is sometimes different from what you see online like a brand name might be blurred out or a dialogue might be muted or even a full scene may be changed.

And then users like us pay a monthly fee to use these sites. They also do add up when you think about it. 1 person in Canada pays $50/year for Hotstar. I think per the last census there were 1.5 million Indian people in Canada (these are the ones who reported that). Plus there are around another 2.5 million people of other South Asian descent. That's 4 million people. Let's suppose each household is exactly 4 people. So that's 1 million households. Let's suppose even if 10% of those households have Hotstar - that's $5 million Canadian dollars. At today's exchange rate of about 60 rupees to a $1 we're talking 30 crore rupees (if I did my math right) and that's just from Canada. Add the rest of the world and just imagine the money that Hotstar is raking in. Forget the rest of the world. Just add US. You're probably easily talking 10 times the Canadian number. Maybe even 20 times. Add in India which is also easily 10 to 20 times the Canadian number. You've got a lot of money from subscriptions and Hotstar is only paying for streaming rights for the movies or shows that aren't being produced by their owners or related parties. The numbers really begin to add up.

End of the day CID still have better trp then Sony's recent shows and offcourse it will increase as Dr Tarika also coming

But worst part is that some people Are just Demanding but not appreciating like Ye character vapis lao wo lao arrey haule haule ho jayega sab....why everyone want instant Maggi response While show aired only two times in week
