why promo?

As IF members we used to discuss the promo, the thread will score a 100 before the episode telecast....we wait eagerly for promo on wednesdays....enjoys the promo in between shows...describes it....thrills....and we analyses it and finally make our stand.....
do you have the feeling that we are over reacting to the situation?
the promo is made just for time pass and nothing else?
cid never needs a promo,so better them to stop?

in some cases like"abhijit in coma", "acp prdyuman ka giraftar","sr.inspector abhijit" etc,the promo made us weary.....it irritates us....the promo and cases like this are just for high rating that we all know....but we love to see abhijit and daya together in promo.....love to see excitements, thrills and its nice to get an idea of what will be it.....

but still, does the promo work?is that something great ?

I think CID does not need to make a name for itself. A show running for 12 years and recieving stunning reviews from critics is bound to make a name for itself anyways. So, what's the need for a promo? Is it to create unrest and hype so that everyone watches the show? Well, CID already had a huge fan base even before there were promos for the show. So, what's the point of promoting a show that already is widely recognized among people? Instead if they even spend that time bettering the plot and the character making, dialogues, background score etc, they might create wonders and the old charm and zest of CID might revive. Additionally, more and more people will watch CID, and this time around, for the right reasons, and not because of funny scenes etc.

Having said all this, I would vote for 'yes' but still, if they do HAVE to create a promo, make one that does not beat around the bush and one without any BS, don't create unnecessary hype among the loyal fans of CID because it really serves no purpose.

i agree with you@ debayon...the promo format should be changed....ie instead of doing this breath taking promo style..they have to set something new.....thats my opinion

chinnu the thing is that if v c the promo v gt an idea abt vat kind of a episode it is n if u think its not necessary 2 show d promo den i say it is n @ debayon cid is not showing off by showin its promo PEOPLE WHO WANTS 2 WATCH WILL ANYWAY WATCH IT N PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT ITS OBVIOUS DEY WONT WATCH IT N 1 MORE THING n the promo is 4 us who watch it not 4 people who dont watch it

in these promos there were some thing that attracts us to keep ourself in home....

ya dats true but yet i think promos r necessary VERY MUCH
