I am starting a new thread on poems. If anyone is interested then here is the link to my old poem thread (https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/chhoti-bahu-sawar-ke-rang-rachi/1329334/thoughts-poems-4th-august2011-radhika-page-55) I will also like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have read my posts and have joined in the discussions. Also my thanks to all the silent readers. The threads that I posted in this forum would not have been possible without the support of the members.

Following is the link to the index of all my poems for both the seasons ... The credit for compiling the index goes to Angie.

Today I was planning on writing something else but instead I ended up writing this poem. Its on Chaya. I have always wondered what happened to her and will she ever be back. Unfortunately we never got a closure regarding Chaya who to me has been the one of the most tragic character in this show. She is the one who gave up everything and did not get anything in return...and my poem is just about some thoughts that are in my head regarding her.

To the one who gave away

She gave him up for time unknown,
The child of her heart but was she forced

Or did she relinquish her right because of times

Since she was not sure whether others would mind

And call the fruit of her heart names that no child should know

Is this the reason she gave up her child for time unknown?

Did she wonder about the life that he will lead

Without a mother's love to soothe the pains that he might feel

Or did she think that the ones to whom she is giving away

Would give him all the love that he will keep his fears at bay

Did that give her the strength to face the pain deep within

When she was giving up her child to others for time unknown.

Was she told that the child will gladden the days

Of the people who lived in castles and ease their pain

That the child will get all the joys that he would desire

Did that lead her heart to break and her thoughts in a mire

That made her think that maybe her love might not be enough

And did this prompt her to give up her child to others for time unknown?

Wonder what happened to her after she went away

Did she make peace with self and lived life not in vain

Were there hands holding her when the memories turned to grief

Or was she left alone facing the deluge with no one to brief

Did she force herself to harden her heart and look away

Or is she still waiting for the one whom she gave up for time unknown?

This lines. I love them a lot..

I am poor in poetry, but can say that they are so good.

and these lines

was she left alone facing the deluge with no one brief...

Chaya was one character who was surrounded by obligations around her. and being a good mother she doesn't want her son to be said as a father less guy, or some other,...

she took all the pain of abandoning her son and gave him to a person whom she belived can give him a better life...

Dev was bound by obligations from very childhood, and may had some pain, but Chaya would have suffered much more than him, becoz she knows that his son was alive. Dev doesn't know his mother was alive.. but she knows it and that will have more pain...

I always wonder how would it be potrayed if ever it was brought. But for me it was one such good character I wished to see.

Misti, I am glad that you started this thread. You had a thread like this in CB1 forum. I will comment on it later, but I am really happy that you talked about Chaya. She remained the tragic figure for whom no justice was done.
I ended up hoping against hope until the end that instead of Madhavi/Padma/Dai or reforming Virat/Maheswari/Rohan, they would instead concentrate one episode on Chaya even if it was unbelievable where they would bring her back. They talked so much about Devki and Yasoda in this show and had actual Kanha. Yet Chaya was never brought back until the end.

Angie ji... Actually I expected Maheswari and Viraat to say some thign like a small sorry to Dev but they didn't...

and above all, there was sudden reveleation orf RR 's real identity and no responses abt it were shown. I am leaving all that

and whats humorous u know, they only talked abt Yashoda maiyya. Including Kanha he spoke of Yashoda maiyya only. so they showed two -two(Two for Dev, Two for Radhika)😉 Yashodas in show. But sad alas none spoke of Devki form start to last so no real mothers in show either it goes for Radhika or Dev

'the one who gave away' became too complicated for the writers they couldn't fashion out some sense n have her back, they were too hollow

Misti glad to see this thread and the poignant poem on Chayya made me shed a few tears on her feelings and its so hard to separate from a child at that stage she must have given her piece of heart and what she felt that would have made a lovely track involving the sentiments and made the trp audience cry and cry as some of the top shows do. what a missed track the mother son sentiment

Lovely sentimental sad poem Misti😭👏👍🏼

Shanta, I miswrote in English. What I meant was that I hoped that they would either show one episode where Radhika finds Chaya (say when she was going to complete her vrats) and brings her back to Dev. Or they would show Dev finding her. Or at least at a minimum, a reference to her by Dev and telling Radhika that he wants his mother back and Radhika assuring him that they would jointly search for her and she is sure that Kanha would help them find her. Even if they had shown a conversation like this, at least it would have been good. But not even in the end she was ever mentioned.
The writers could have left it open ended but could have shown a conversation between Dev and Radhika at a minimum so that there is some sort of hope. Is it even realistic that a sensitive person like Dev would not think of his mother losing everything? With his resources combined with Radhika's resources, they would think of finding her.
But writers were always concerned about Padma and anything related to Dev was always neglected. That's why Padma got 3 episodes dedicated to her emotions after the truth about Hari & Chaya came out. Yet Dev got a 15 second solo scene and when he did talk about Chaya, it was with Dai instead of Radhika. Then even there, Padma was inserted after 20 seconds.
That's why in the end Padma's son is the back-up caretaker of Muth with no punishment for him and Padma being declared as the ideal Yasoda maiya. See Padma and Dai were the ones who were important here rather than Dev, Radhika and Chaya. That's why Radhika's birth family was not even mentioned and Mansa family was not even shown for an important function like that ceremony. All we saw was Padma, Dai, Madhavi and Kanha for those last 5 days. Radhika and Dev were shown as a side characters because without them, everyone would have switched off the show.

Misti, that was beautiful...chaya's whereabouts and why not showing her feelings would have been a hit track in cb..Most of the parents that give away a child they say its for their better living...but this woman wasnt able to see things0well just after giving birth, a woman in that stage is sensitive and warry, hence easy manipulated..in this case dadaji..She might have thought this way he may not be called names..but still he was called orphan and serven,he did suffer from emptiness of not having a familly thats y he always dreamed of having one...she was just a fooled angel by the sugarcoated words of those two bitter people..
