I do feel that GK has learned her lesson with QH, and is keeping all the plot lines more balanced so far ... but let the show carry on for a full year or two and remain balanced all the while ... then we will take the final call on that one! QH is definitely not so heavily dependent on the lead pair as IPK was, neither is their chemistry anywhere near as explosive ... but then IPK's lead pair was exceptional in that both were so good looking and such exceptionally good actors that no one else really got a chance to steal the thunder.

Would I like to see Sanaya in another show with GK ... am ambivalent. IF GK can maintain her focus on her story, and not lose track halfway ... IF she keeps the balance between all the characters ... then her story telling skills are unquestionable. And so is her creative team ... direction, music, cinematography - all are excellent. They all contributed to the succes ... it wasn't the actors alone, although they played a big part. But so are many other PHs becoming equally good in those departments, as TV as a medium is growing bigger and bigger, so GK is not the only one now.

Also so far, GK's 3 stories have been variations on the same theme. I don't want a fourth version of the same tale ... I'd rather have a completely different story with different characterization for Sanaya. That's one reason I'm enjoying CC ... after the crazy klutzy Khushi, I love the sensible down to earth Chhanchhan. I just wish the story telling was at the same level.

This topic is going to be shut pretty soon ... it has nothing to do with Chhanchhan 😛

Thanks Diya.

Now that you've said it, I may consider giving QH a try. As much as I agree with most of your opinions, I'll have to disagree this time with the statement that IPK's lead were exceptionally good looking and no actors can give them a competition in their acting skills. I did not think that Barun was good looking at all when I saw him in his Sony show but I was left staring as soon as he donned the ASR avatar. Exact same thing with KSG. I had no clue how he could be so popular for his good looks among girls for his show DMG but my eyes refused to blink for a moment when I saw him as Asad Ahmad Khan in QH. I am past that teenage phase of drooling over male actors, so when I have my "wow" moments, the person should really look extraordinarily good. In the case of Anuj, I'd say he doesn't look as good as he can in ChanChan. Given his physique, height, attitude and facial features, I am positive that he can easily reach the league of ASR and AKK with a good stylist. As for Sanaya, yes she is my favorite actress. However, I have admired Anita Hassanandani's good looks as much as that of Sanaya. There are many actresses with excellent features but there's something about these two that makes them stand out for me.

Now coming to their acting skills... as much as I love Sanaya for her acting, I'd say that she's not the only one. There are many in her league. Shweta Tiwari is one TV actress who deserves all the accolades for her superb acting. She had this scene in her show KZK that I stumbled upon yearsss ago. In the scene she finds out that her son Prem had made a false accusation against her adopted daughter Mukti. Her breakdown and the following scene of trashing Prem is one of those classical scenes that remained as fresh as evergreen trees in my memory. Sanaya's yet to deliver something of that level. I've no doubts that she's capable if given the right script, a good director, and a well-developed character. But I am yet to see something like that from Sanaya. If anything at all, I'd say that Khushi's breakdown scene behind closed doors in IPK can be considered in the same league. The same thing applies to the male lead of IPK. The guy who plays Mohan Bhatnagar in Na Bole Tum has flawless acting skills. An unbiased viewer would tell you that KSG is as good as Barun when we compare the characters of Asad and ASR or even better in some cases given that he had to work on his Urdu accent and deliver a character from a completely different cultural background. Was it you or Drish that I was suggesting KavyAnjali to and then she asked me for the YT link? Just watch the actors in that show and tell me whether you think any other actor could have possibly been a better choice for any of the characters. Eijaz Khan, the male protagonist, has two major breakdown scenes in the show and I will acknowledge without any hesitation that he outperformed Barun when compared to his two breakdown scenes in IPK despite all the hype for the latter. In fact, I just reached the second breakdown scene after watching consecutive episodes of the show on Star Classics and I was left speechless by Eijaz Khan yet again. Hence, I wouldn't agree that we can't find actors of the same caliber either in terms of looks or acting skills in the industry.

Going back to our record of agreements, oh yes GK has to make note of all those points you've listed before I could support Sanaya in her possible decision to sign up another project with the lady in business.

I have to agree yet again. It looks like GK's show are somewhat monotonous in terms of their characterization. I would definitely vote AGAINST another Khushi-like character for Sanaya.

Well I've tried to link the topic with CC. Even if not directly, it's something related to Sanaya so I hope DT sees that connection. Otherwise, I was trying to make the point that the ChanChan team cannot give us what GK offered to Sanaya, so how do SI fans feel about this... In any case, CC forum is the only place I visit on IF and have friends with whom I can share my views. And I've thankfully reached my goal in garnering your views on this topic. So even if the thread's closed, I've no complaints.

No offense at all but I am a follower of QH I watch it once in awhile when I have time personally IMO I find KSG to be a much better actor than Barun he's not only good here but he was also good in his DMG days which BS wasn't in his previous the man was even good in his debut show as a newbie I don't like Barun's dialogue delivery I find it hard to understand him at times.

KSG is Telly king of romance I would love if Gul write a nice story and consider him and Sanaya in a show together that I will watch every single day Mon-Friday till the end.

What I feel is that GK can make the romantic part of her show so much appealing to the audience but she cannot tell a story.. and that is her flaw. If she can overcome this flaw, then oh yes we'd love to see SI team up with her again!

Agree...she has sidelined her key characters and the main plotline is all forgotten in the pursuit of TRPs over Asad Zoya romance.

I also would love to see Sanz do a Seeta aur Geeta., play a Maharani, a ruthless tycoon. Cause the woman is truly talented and blessed with stunning looks. A rare mix of the Western and Indian features. Would have loved to see her enact the role of Jodha right now!😉

Read your comments on male actors, every one has their favourites...for me after watching Viraf in Kismet and reading all about the guy offscreen...he is a class apart... Its rare to find a male actor with some grey cells😃 No offense though to anyone. ...I believe as Gul can get the best out of her characters/actors... and bang on with her casting... Had IPK continued, Viraf would have excelled in his role...My dream casting still is Viraf teamed with Sanaya though not necessarily with GK... where both play equally very strong characters...this may never ever happen...nevertheless no harm in dreaming right?😉

I think indian shows have changed so much!! They only run because of TRPs!! So, I wouldn't say that it producers or writers fault!! I still remember shows in the old , old shows that my mom used to watch and I used to watch with her!! Because we used to buy these tapes that have series of episodes in just one tape!! They are people who tape them and then let you rent it!! 😆 Ahhh, the old days!! Man, that makes me feel old!! 😒 Anyway, the shows I remember watching were Parampara, Swabimaan, the first part of Kkusum, and I think the other show was Ashirwad!! I think these shows were more soap- like then what we see today!! Today, shows are either about fantasies or majorly saas-bahu!! The story telling in the old days were much better in the shows that I mentioned!! No extra loud background music!! It was more simple back then!! And they utilized the whole cast!! Today you hardly find unique shows!! But I guess it's because now everyone is watching TV!! Even kids!! 😆 Back then there were affairs, women had more to do then just stand there, family dramas told in a more simple way!! Now everything seems loud and obnoxious (saas-bahu shows🤢) Sorry to say but I don't think saas-bahu stuff is called soaps!! 🤔 That's more like a social show!! Anyway, I remember Heena as well!! 😊

Hey. don't give QH a try on my say-so, I don't watch it!😆 I have friends who do and they give me updates, and so far it does seem that the show is better balanced among all the characters.
I was comparing BS/SI only to the QH lead pair, and I find BS/SI much better as a combination than KSG/SJ. I have still to try Kavyanjali - I remember our discussion on this show in another post, but haven't had the time to try it yet ... I will get around to watching it one day ... (note to self ... Diya, memory of goldfish, just bookmark the link, woman!)
I actually got hooked to DMG because of KSG, and did like him in whatever little I saw of QH ... so I have to say he IS a good actor, and now he has proved himself in two roles with opposite personalities, Armaan and Asad ... BS is yet to do the same, so i would say that so far KSG is the superior actor - caveat being so far. I am way past the age of drooling on male actors too ... it is their acting skills which get me hooked ... and I didn't get hooked to IPK because of BS, I was there for SI. If I hadn't been there for her, I don't know if BS would have hooked me - quite possible he would, because he was very good. But like I said, he still has to prove himself in a different role.

The only other actor I like for his acting skills is Varun Badola - I would give every show of his a try because the man is DAMN GOOD!!! Have watched him in three totally different shows and he has left me in awe in all of them - try a few scenes of Koshish-Ek Aasha, then watch Astitva- Ek Prem Kahani and then a more 'regular' love story drama Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand ... the guy is a chameleon the way he changes roles and shades. I watched Phir Subah Hogi just for him, although I couldn't relate to the story at all. I would love to see him with Sanaya in an older man-younger woman type of show ... or even in a show with marital conflict ... he is approaching 40 so he would not suit in a regular love story. I like Mohan Bhatnagar too, a lot ... he just needs to cut his hair and get a shave ... why do all these TV actors feel that good grooming is not essential or important?! 😕 Look at their Western counterparts ... how well turned out they always are!

I haven't watched Sweta Tiwari at all, except a few scenes of Parvarish ... I agree she is a good actress, but since I haven't seen her in anything exceptional, I can't comment. However I will say that I have seen Sanaya so far in three very different characters, and the way she changes herself for each character and makes them completely distinctive in terms of dialogue delivery and body language, apart from the superficial dressing and hairstyle etc, makes her in my mind a very intelligent and accomplished actress. I do find other actresses very good, but none of them has made me connect to them the way Sanaya has ... not that there is anything wrong with them, just that I have not connected. I watch them, admire them and move on. Even the ones I've liked in a particular show, the liking has not been enough to watch them in subsequent shows, which it has in case of Sanaya ... I don't know why, but there it is.

Chhanchhan team cannot offer us what GK offered Sanaya ... in that I do differ. Khushi was butchered time and again to make ASR look good ... she was only the love interest of ASR and the depth Sanaya brought to Khushi was mostly because of her own performance, not because it was author backed. Every time Khushi was strong, she was made to back down and be defeated, so that ASR could 'rescue' her. The only time Khushi stayed strong for any length of time was when Sanaya had to hold the fort for a few weeks, and the writers had no choice. CC team has given Sanaya much more, in terms of author backed role and a strong character ... the problem is in the writing of the show, and the fact that CC doesn't have any layers. If GK continues to make shows where her heroine is shown as a dimwit fluffy kind of girl, or where her hero loses his brains at regular intervals, then I will pass, thank you very much! If she can make a show where both her lead protagonists are strongly written, then I will be interested.

@red ... Any of these ... a ruthless tycoon is top of my list as of now, because Sanaya has those looks which suit both Indian and Western outfits perfectly. Seeta aur Geeta is another dream outing ... she has already shown that she can do those two diametrically opposite characters with Gunjan and Khushi - put them together and the mix would be explosive and hilarious! 😆

Viraf and Sanaya ... join the gang ... me and a few friends are major Viraf-Sanaya shippers and are praying for them to get together in a show! He is so articulate and witty ...she is so bindaas and foot in mouth ... I can just imagine the off screen segments with two crazy Parsis!!! 😆 And he has the same kind of sophisticated international good looks ... if any channel had any sense, they would get these two actors together in a show exclusively aimed at their urban and international audience ... having watched Kismet, what I was hoping for was a male-female version of Kane and Abel. A well written show on those lines would be completely unique for Indian telly ... they could make both Hindi and English versions with the same actors ... make it a weekly or bi-weekly show with limited number of episodes ... it could be a rage!

U r absolutely right in saying that one can't tolerate a GK show unless shez a fan of one of the leads atleast. Sanaya was the sole reason I took up IPKKNd and though I fell for the pair, the show post-feb became an all-sanaya show for me...the story went from bad to worse! So is the case with QH and geet, none of them held any interest for me bcz I wsnt a fan of the leads. I love the romance shown in GK shows and khushi is a memorable character for me but having said,I still don't want to see sanz in yet another angry man-poor girl show not just bcz the concept has been done to death but also bcz sanz's previous show did no justice to her calibre and hard work as GK is always busy glorifying the brooding hero

Why is Barun being discussed here, please keep him out of this forum..
Please stick to discussing SI's career only or her acting skills

Dia... I haven't watched KSG or the other actors being discussed but absolutely agree about Varun Badola...he is a class act ...one of the finest TV actors of his generation. And I loved both Koshish and Astitva. Its difficult to believe now that Koshish was an Ekta show. Infact i would love to see Sanaya in Sandhya Mridul's role in Koshish or Niki Aneja's role in Astitva...although i doubt if she could play the older woman role to any male actor currently so maybe few years down the line

It depends upon Gul and team now.And if Sanaya manages to get a lead role in 4Lion's next,I'd say that she's extremely lucky,as a 4Lions show is bound to be a hit, with or without Sanaya. They weave magic. I myself swore that I won't be emotionally attached to any show after IPK,but QH got me hooked.Never liked KSG but now I'm in love with Asad-Zoya and KSG and SJ.They work really hard and that shows onscreen.
I see ppl are comparing Sarun with KaBhi,but that would lead to fights only. Both are equally good at their place in terms of acting and u can't simply say which pair is better looking or which is not.Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
