ChanChan review of a TV addict [DT note Pg. 6]

As for Chanchan

I know Sanaya has gone all out to promote Chanchan as something new something fresh &real but the fact is ITS NOT.

• Chanchan does not cry or wear pallu '. Nor did any of the Bahu's of Sony for years and these days other Channels too

• Chanchan wears different types of dresses just like the real girls out there '. So does all the lead characters or most of the characters in Sony for years

• Chanchan has an amazing &understanding bond with her husband '. So does every other Saas-Bahu show '. That is their USP '. Tiff between Saas-Bahu with a supportive and understanding husband

Adding to all these characters in Chanchan has no depth '. Saying this when it started would have been wrong but its 4 months now. I may come online and read one or two brilliantly written post in most articulated verses but general viewers out there will not hence they will not get the grasp of it either.

Two main aspects of the show brushed off completely '. So yes people will feel disconnected

• Uma Ben is mean to CC understandable but NOT one thought for happiness of her own child. That's evil.

• CC loves Manav and has married into a family she has not an iota of idea of whats its like but for an independent there was no development in Manav-CC relation.

Now if you ask me why negative reaction to the show Chanchan '.. Its not a bad show but its not a good show either. Still why do I follow it '. Yaar its fun, I have heard so much about Sanaya's perfection and her mere presence being enough, so why to miss on it! Also because there are two PH whom I like & follow their shows '. Optimystix for Saas Bina Sasural (strong character like Toasty) and Ravi Ojha Production for Sasural Genda Phool (bindaas bahu like Suhana)

For the feedback -

It includes all - appreciation, criticism and disapproval ... Allow the later two. 8/10 post in an episode of the different colour nightie Sanaya wore &how it complements her skin is not feedback. Still it will make sense when criticism and disapproval is allowed.

PS: I know a lawn mower will be used on me. Par phir bhi ... There is only this much accusation this phangirl could take.

One line I did understand and I don't agree with.. They ARE showing the development of the Manav Chhanchhan relationship. They are showing it rather beautifully, in fact.

As for Umaben not bothered about her son's happiness, there are parents who disown their children for marrying against their wishes, Umaben is smarter, she's trying to get rid of the daughter in law and keep her son. She's amusing to watch.

I agree they are showing Manav-CC relationship now ... Nothing before as to why they ended up with eachother. Manav holding puchuch despite allergy was not good enough for me. Allergy which is not there anymore.

Agree with you. It is very easy to praise everything and see the show through the tinted eye glasses wherein your favorite is doing a good job. However it is an entirely different ball game to discuss and accept the faults in the show. For all the numerous posts I have seen here since yesterday when the rumors started that CC is under scanner, all I have seen is the blame game - Push blame onto Barun fans, SaRun fans or Barun himself when Barun is no where in the picture. When you give feedback it is immediately deduced whether you are a barun fan or a Sarun fan or a Sanaya fan. Don't you think Barun is becoming a easy target for everything that is wrong is Chanchan. FK when he was not able to act passed the blame on IPK fans and washed off his hands off this project without taking any responsibility for the show not clicking. Then didn't everyone raise a hue and cry saying he is not even a decent human being. Then what are the fans doing from yesterday - they are also passing the blame of the show failure on Barun and who knows maybe the PH will also pass the blame of show failure on Barun and IPK jodi. Then will any of them be better than FK - no they are not. Accepting what doesn't work out and working on it will only get you some progress.

And for people saying that this show is very realistic, for a person who has seen the same PH's earlier show Saas Bina Sasural, the character of Toasty with its faults and strong points was a much better sketched character and just because you haven't seen other shows don't jump and say that what Sanaya is doing is the best character. Saas Bina Sasural had much better storyline that CC had in these 4 months and this show was produced by the same PH. So instead of just praising that things are working and pushing off the faults under the rug, please do tell your honest feedback to the PH and the channel and hope that they tighten the story. And yes allow some posts that criticize the show so that the PH so that if they drop by the forums, get an gist of what is not working. Internet audience consists of less than 10% of viewership and the show has to make an impact across the audience in India. Just painting everything as rosy is not good.

PS:- Don't mock me as a Sanaya Basher/Hater/Barun fangirl. Few things that I am very intolerant of. If you don't understand my post, then it is better you don't reply to it rather than mocking my intentions and figuring out my "hidden agenda". If you have point to discuss do post it here or pm me and we can talk. Please avoid just posting and quoting for the heck of it.

I agree with your points. The characters show no reflection, depth or thinking. It seems like there is no story developed and CVs are going with the flow. There is nothing planned here.

@Bold:- I disagree on that. Maybe it happens in rural india, not in cities. In cities, parents go out of their way to be friends with their children's spouses because all of them are educated and they know that the children are capable of leading their own lives. So for me whatever the clash that the PH is promoting here doesn't hold any substance because the clash between UB and CC doesn't have any basis. Doesn't UB know that Manav is going to walk out with CC if Chanchan goes out. She knows Manav loves ChanChan like crazy, they are legally married so how does she plan on getting CC out and get Manav remarried. I hope she does know that if Manav were to remarry, he first needs to be divorced from CC - See that kind of loopholes are too many in this script and that is the reason I feel this show is not making a mark.
