I'll try and make this a series and post songs from the same raag that I know of.
Bhimpalasi is a beautiful raag and classified as an afternoon raag and the songs based on it are also beautiful. In Carnatic music, the raag that comes closest is Aberi or Devagandhari.

I absolutely love Gori tera gaon, so beautifully sung by Yesudas! ❤️

I was doing a little digging and turns out this is actually Raag Dhani. Bhimpalasi is very close to it though so hard to tell the difference!

Actually I was wrong! It’s not Dhani, it’s Palasi. Easy to get them mixed up! 😆

Actually there are a lot of new songs in Bhimpalasi, even I didn’t realize it.

I also noticed that most of AR Rahman's songs were in Bhimpalasi. Very catchy numbers.
