Not something out of the box, but definitely something that needs to be condoned in a democracy like India which predominantly is a male dominate society. Well done Mamta and Yash Patnaik, really happy for the show and the actors. 👏

Help me understand. When the makers pitch a story to the channel, will they have a story from start to finish or just a concept of angry young man and his badla from an eight year old? I am not talking about series that run till I die, but the ones like IPK3 that are pitched as finite series?

I am sure most shows that are surviving for the last decade or so have seen a lot of changes in the storyline, but then the characterization has been pretty consistent and the changes have been slow and gradual. Here every week we get to see a new story, which has no relation with what aired the previous Friday. Yet an actor like Barun manages to keep the audience hooked to his character and it's emotions. Less said the better about the FL.

Ranjitha,

I can't explain it as well as Ecri.

But my understanding is, no one knows what brings TRPs.
Look at a show like sasuraal simar ka or Saath Nibhaana saathiya...both have rubbish storylines, but have garnered TRPs for years, despite the silliest of plots.
So when Gul pitched IPK-3, it must have looked good on paper, as it did to all of us, who felt the concept was workable. Gul just made Ishqbaaz which was a different show, and she managed to get quite decent TRPs. So considering the success of IPK1 and Tanhaiyaan, SP must have blindly trusted the makers.

I just watched the Friday episode and I don't know what to say. He mentioned about the child, and she still believes stupidly that she will make him love her, without giving any explanation whatsoever? Did she ask about his parents? Does she even know they are dead? 😕 Shouldn't she clarify that also, even if he doesn't believe her?

So Chandni was there in Allahabad, when the Mahants were killed. Advaiy went into hiding after that. And she has no clue about what happened? Even now when he accuses her, she doesn't want to know how Mahantiniji flew and where she disappeared to?😆 She is the dumbest FL I have seen..Advaiy should just understand her IQ is very very poor, for a mathematician to make intelligent conversation with.

And how on earth did the locket land up in her cupboard? 😆

Usko sirf Dev se matlab hai. Uske maa baap bhai se koi lena dena hi nahi hai.
Simple explanation was Main choti thi. She should be thinking how was she flying? She should have asked it before when she daydreamt about marrying Dev. For Chandni 2+2= meri maa bohot acchi😆

The best thing would have simply forgiving Dev for what he did to her and vow to run turn only when she has all the answers to what have happened 16 years ago. She should ask for an explanation from her mother who conveniently forgot to mention her the details of Dev's family. Solah Sringar could have waited.

Did you guys notice how narottam was sitting on the couch and how he changed his stance when he saw anami?
And what kind of psycho sudha is? She is not mad at all.
I think avdhut has a better role to play.

Anu

I LOVED the symbolism to chess, the show has such class and how. 😃

Avdoot will be involved with Tanya

Star Plus and other GECs are broadcasters and hence, they air the shows, both fiction and non fiction. Makers, popularly called as Production Houses (PHs) are the ones who actually come uo with a concept and pitch it to the GECs and when the two parties find a common ground, the show is okayed for a pilot shoot. This shoot can be of a few episodes or just one epi and the channel sees how the show looks in 'rea'l and gives a go ahead. Sometimes, there are changes suggested but the vision of the makers stays intact. The story in a daily soap is changed on biweekly basis depending on how the creators feel they can up the number and content game to grab eyeballs.

What happened with IPK3 was the concept looked good on paper and the pilot epi was okayed long ago, However, the actual show took time to be put together and when it did, things went a lil...askew, for the lack of better word. But until then the show was on air. And while SP intervened, things dint go down well for the show.

But more or less the makers are responsible for the show and how it comes across. Its like a competition where each maker puts their best foot forward and rakes in numbers for the broadcaster which is the channel. When a show or maker fails to do that, the shows are pulled off air and slots are given to other shows in the pipeline.

Ranjitha, I keep tabs on almost all shows and while there are shows that dont fit well with my taste, I have to say that whether it is KSBKBT, KGGK, DABH, YRKKH, SNS, BV, IPK1, BALH, SSK, or any other show that does well on TRP charts, the connect with the leads is what brings in recall value for the viewers which lacked in IPK3.

A few other things like the track and the side stories matter too. But everything that sells on TRP charts is not bogus and everything that doesnt is not a gem.

I hope this helps. 😊

Mind it, its 2017 when the same channel has content like RKC and have delivered shows like Dahleez and Tamanna or even POW. This show is some 15 years before content. Utter nonsense.

I agree Ecri, Chandni has been an epic failure. Even I was so hopeful. Do you remember I said Sanaya would not have a great choice as Chandni because we are going to have an educated and working FL? I never thought Shivani is this much hopeless. I seriously wish to know hows she got the role. About everything the show is about love and romance, something she cannot emote at all.

Dey

Aap hamesha correct baat bol dete ho 😆😆

The show was aimed to be retro and regal but Shivani Shirali the designer turned it into a fancy dress competition.

No but jokes apart the script on hindutva was a gamble and it backfired.

Dey, I KNOW how much you and I both were looking forward to watching ST play Chandni and we were so happy, But man, what a let down and what a cringeworthy portrayal of the Fl. I am sorry, I am sure no girl in today's time will connect to her. 🤢 Women represent power and inner strength, we are self respecting, unlike Chandni

Yes, I agree in love scenes she falls short of Sobti grandly

@bold I disagree. When SNS started in 2010, I was watching the show through and through (for work of course😆) and my God, I was surprised to see that a modern, educated and dignified lady like me could come back to see what happened to the fate of Gopi Vahu in Modi house. I agree later on it was shit, but my God the first few months and Ahem and Gopi's honeymoon in Switzerland was like so god damn REAL. HE was in love with Anita, unwilling to say no to his tyrannical mom and married the simple girl and left her to her fate, The direction and story telling was so crisp that I could barely change the channel initially.

SSK, two girls and there was bride swap not because of love but because the elder one wants to save the day and gets her younger sis to be in her place. Not out-of-the-box but defo not bad, Spup. YRKKH, the story of arranged marriage of Akshara and Naitik whom Akshara finds after a long wait while she is rejected numerous times cos she is dark. THERE IS a story everywhere, there is a you and me everywhere and there is a love that touches each heart everywhere and not just a Greed God powerful actor who carries the show on his shoulders.

@blue could not have said better 👏

I agree on Chandni, you have already read my rants 🤢
