There are certain things that make this repeat watch enjoyable for me:

1) The songs and background score. Very very soothing & prefectly placed.

2) A strong FL with kick-ass attitude.

3) Dialogues, especially poetry.

4) Vulnerable ML

5) Sobti

6) Sobti in white shirt 😳

7) Talented ensemble cast.

The story was pretty predictable and post episode 8ish the story got really slow, but everytime I watch that, I can't help but compare it with IPK3 😭

Word, Word, Word Ranjita

SJ aka Surbhi Jyoti is one of the best actors from Gul camp and she was superb with Sobti. When IPK3 was announced, I had my fingers and toes crossed to have SJ pop Sobti, but Alas. 😆

Anyway, I think Tanhiayaan content wise was not something out of the box, but then it was all good stuff that was relatable, the setting, the characters and most importantly the actors made the series a must watch and one that we cherish for a long time to come.

1) Channel trusted 4Lions based on the success of IPK1, Tan & IB.
2) every show that has good TRP has connect with a bunch of viewers or they created the connect in the initial episodes and people now stick to it, no matter what!

But with IPK3, nobody got a chance to connect with any character, except for Advay, may be, but a show cannot survive on one character or one actor.

No matter how much I try, I cannot find even one good reason for casting ST. I can understand the reason behind not casting SI, but ST 😭

If somebody confirms that Barun's body double was/is used in Monday's episode, I will happily skip it 😳

I have so much to say, bear with me.

A show is nothing but a means of entertainment and yet, it is a reflection of our society in more ways than one. When viewers, irrespective of age, caste, color or creed come tightener and bind themselves with shows or characters that they see every day, sharing a part of their lives with them and sharing a part of their own joys, happiness and sorrows with the on screen characters, celebrating the lil happiness in the name of festivities or those small rituals that put a smile on your face, you know the show and the characters have stepped beyond the realms of just fiction and touched lives.

Idk if it sounds too far fetched or cliche or even mundane, but the fact is that Indian shows, the long running sagas or just the episodics, mean so much more to the people that the impact is what is measured on television rating points (TRPs) and trust me that minuscule fraction represents the overall data of not just the viewers tuning in but also of the emotions that are attached with the shows.

@bold very well said Ranjitha. If only the viewers had thought about the connect and worked on their product to make it more likeable than trolling fans and spiting them unnecessarily, IPK3 would have been a mega hit.

You know I feel so disheartened to see the show like this. I had so many expectations to see Sobti as a rahul Jayakar from Aashuiqi 2 with his guitar and a sad past. I thought this show would be an epic, but look what has happened and what the makers turned it into. Its baffling that people even say that the makers arent at fault. You see, it was their vision, their baby, their show, where does the channel comes into picture? I wish things were different and how.

@blue WORD. I dont have anything against ST, she is ok. But the point is with Sobti we wanted someone like Tridha, or maybe SJ , actresses who are more polished and have more mettle. I am so sad to see Chandni like a puppet on screen, its demeaning 🤢

Body doubles are a norm Ranjitha, whenever the actor is busy. 😆😉

2) One who is physically or mentally unfit cannot hold the post of priest as per the Hindu custom

3)Mantra uccharan can be a ritual but dwars however divya they may be do not open with them.There is a resson why locks were invented.

4) Lets think their way and lets believe dwar opens every 16 years and the priest is entitled to have the treasure but why did the previous Mahants didnt empty whatever treasure was there? Or the treasure multiplies itself every sixteen years?

5) How did Indrani take over Dev's ancestral house? The house is too lavish for Mahant family or even for Dev's father unless the temple is paying for it. May be the king who built it had attached a quarter for the Mahant also. The house however is not very old and by that logic Indrani could have never mortgaged it at all.

6) All the rasams before marriage were LOL.

7) Hindus from different communities wear different colours for marriage, red being the most popular . Some wear white traditionally and the modern brides prefer peach, beige or golden. Nowhere in this world and may be beyond wears black. Even in Mumbai, Mata's chowki was attended in black. This is a Mahant's family btw.

8) The whole saavan ka mahina and no rituals or customs. Its like Mahant has been appointed to do rituals once in 16 years.

Allahabad the holy city of India where the 'Triveni Sangam' is what attracts the worshipers and pilgrims across the world was so poorly portrayed and shown in the show that it felt like the makers wanted to portray black magic and witch craft as the theme. I remember when the first set of pictures were released, my friend whose with SP had told me that she fears if the theme went wrong, the sets would be banished. The preachers and upholders of Hindu Snaskriti dont take things very kindly and the team, with this show has hurt religious sentiments too. No I am not condemning or condoning the right or the wrongs of religious practices, I am not worthy of it. But all I am saying is a show on prime time could have capitalised so much on the said theme and look where it has come to.

They dint show the ghats, they dint show the sangam, they dint show the spirit of hinduism which would have melted the viewers hearts in minutes, but they showed a trivial looking Mahantani, an old fashioned set of fiascos and Shiv murti being 'staapith' from a man who has one kidney. 🤢 I feel awful to even think about the early days of the show though the only good memory from there is a sane Chandni who dint fall prey to her sexual desires and was definitely not a doormat.

The writer is Harneet and she screwed up big time.

Well, I decided to treat this one rather differently. The backlash and flak for recently launched, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? continues to get worse and worse, where the show faced an unbelievable drop in the ratings this week. However, the makers and other people associated with the show maintain their stance about the casting of Shivani Tomar aka Chandni opposite Barun Sobti aka Advay. So, this one, I am sure the fans would love it when we think if Chandni would mouth Claire Underwood's short but impactful dialogue-
