What an excellent description of Narottam by Anami, though she doesn't yet know how well she placed him!👏

He is the man who is both male and female.

He is the man who is both black and white.

And therefore, he becomes the most unpredictable player in this game.

Narottam- the effeminate man- the Shikhandi in this Mahabharata , behind whom Sudha plays her deadly games! For how long she must have planned this revenge! She must have waited for this weapon she gave birth to fully take shape...she sharpened the edges of this weapon, all her life. He is the sword and the shield...what a master stroke by the writers!👏 Iss kahani ka kaal...the one who decides who dies when!

Beta, tumhaari maa ko maaf karna nahi aata- a chilling reminder to Narottam, who knows only too well this blade smith means business.

The Maker and the Weapon...what a sad deterioration for a bond that is considered so sacred!

Makes one wonder... Will Narottam ever know what love is? Most likely, Sudha must have trained him to be the effeminate shield that has made him go unnoticed so far. Sudha seems to have only one agenda in mind- Revenge. Her son is just the means to attain it. Not even once, during the conversation, she seemed to love her child for the human being he is...even when she caresses him, it seems like a warrior feeling her blade!

Will this weapon ever know to love?

As a brother... As a lover... As a friend...

Will he ever know he could have a life beyond his mother's revenge? When Anami talked about how she would fly away one day, there was a flicker of admiration in his eyes...Would he ever be able to forsake his current existence and fly away too? Would he even dare think about it? For now, he sticks to his mother's orders. His game begins and ends with Anami.

Quite prophetic, Isn't it? He would never get past her. His game would end when he encounters her. As he starts the game, he is black...will he play for the white, when the game ends? After all, he does know how to play from both the sides!

As we browse through the rest of the story, we come across Dadaji in a critical condition, undergoing God knows what cooked up procedure! No comments on the mediocre glove- syringe- oxygen mask- scrubs surgical rescue.😲👎🏼

As the family waits outside, anxious, 3 people know the old man will survive. Sudha- because she is arrogant enough to believe she decides everyone's fate. Anami- because she genuinely feels the old man has a lot of life in him, her heart tells her so. And a stranger who has returned to avenge himself- he wants the old man to survive. Dheeru has returned to the man he called Baba once.

What a gripping episode, showcasing the three major players- Narootam fighting for his mom, Anami fighting for what is right, as she has always been taught and Dheeru/ Dheeraj? who might be Adhiraj's father, who has a score to settle. And then there is Pujan, who'd rather sit and watch what is happening...he has eyes on Adhiraj already. Anami is right there, so he won't miss her. But the Invisible Narottam- now, he could be a real game changer, right?

Brilliant! 👏👏👏

Narottam is a dangerous player.
I have a feeling Narottam is not illegitimate child at all. Baldev must have married Sudha or as you said Sudha doesnt have that motherly attitude that Satrupa has for her children despite being cruel to her opponents.May be Narottam was never born to Sudha and Baldev but was one of the twins born to Satrupa before Anami and Vatsalya. Sudha gave birth to a dead child which was replaced. Which mother would let a baby live in that palace all alone fighting all abuses including sexual abuses?

What is more satisfying form of revenge than to make your own son, own blood hate you or make you hate him? This is what Shakuni did to Kauravas. He finished the whole dynasty pretending to be their own.

For a while, even I thought Sudha could have been the first wife, since she talks so much of her haq..but Vikramaditya wouldn't be so mean to his own son the. About Narottam being one of the first set of twins..not sure. The idea got was that Narottam was already born when Satrupa became Baldev's bride. Though the idea is good,. She is anyway using Baldev's blood against his family.

Sudha is plain mad...nothing will heal her. I think she is only bothered about her youth and beauty and her haq...

Lovely post, Soup..
The chess being symbolic as Narottam laid the trap while an unsuspecting Anami took the bait and walked into it willingly, only to end the game in SIX fat moves and she says 'Saat ki naubat nahi aayegi". Poetic justice to the scene that represented the prey and the predator.

And as Narottam tightens the noose around her neck, trapping her from further walking or looking away, Anami vows to fight against the injustice meted out to him, and rightly so. But it will be interesting to see how Anami all react when she stumbles onto the bait that Narottam has our forth being bogus and redundant.

Dheeru's entry will be a game changer and I absolutely love Bhupinder Singh, he is an actor par excellence and he is also one of the producers and I love how intricately his role has been brought in at a time when Vikram falls a prey to the circumstances.

A fantastic set of episodes this week.

Yes, I forgot. Satrupa had said this to Vikramaditya. Baldev was alresdy a father when he married Satrupa.
Vikramaditya can do a lot more than this. Dont forgot he is Satrupa's mentor. Sudha seems to be a courtesan that too from Bengal and definitely not the girl he can accept as a member of his royal family.

I'm loving the increasing intricacy being added to Narottam's character with every episode. The actor is doing such a fine job. 👏 Coming to your post, yet another wonderful analysis. Your title could not be more apt.

Narottam is the most dangerous player inside the Chakravyuh. He is a puppet of Sudha, who is a psychotic mastermind and she will keep pushing him. It is pretty evident from yesterday's episode that he yearns for her approval. My heart goes out to him. His father can't even bear to look at his face and his mother is using him to gain her ends. He told Anami that his only mistake was being the najayaz son, and it felt like he himself believed that to be the truth (though it was to gain her sympathy).

No one is a saint in the show and that is what makes it so realistic. We have Pujan, Adiraj and now Dheeru waiting to destroy the family. The complexity of the story keeps increasing with each episode and yet it is so simple. Simply marvellous.

The Chess scene was simply superb. How Anami walked in to a deserted house...the final game being played between the two. Up till then, Narottam has been playing all by himself, switching sides. Now he chooses black (as he did when he kept quiet about Vatsalya running away). And she defeats him in six moves! Poor Narottam goes on playing, not knowing she has defeated him!
Brilliant! 👏 I guess that is how it will be. The final battle will be between the two.

I love Bhupinder Singh too.

Thank You.
I guess Narottam is the most complex character out here, and they gave an excellent description of him in that chess scene.👏 True...Najayaz is his crime, to be born the son of his mother.

Fantastic writing all over! 👏

The show is just getting better and better 😃

The Scene of the week was the Narottam-Anami chess scene!! No theatrics and camera effects just simple but symbolically poignant lines, giving a hint to the viewers what the journey ahead is going to be like 👏

Pujan babu joker as he is unlike stupid villains he's got his focus on the right prize 😆 Lal mahal through Royal steel 👏

Adhiraj and his short term fascination will be over with the DNA report 😉

Baldev dude I feel for you because of the misery you'll inflict upon yourself when you know Jungli girl is indeed your child!!

Dadaji- dadiji scene was 😭 😳

Satrupa the lady who doesn't bend easily looked so worn out outside the operation theatre, Dadaji indeed is her silent source of strength!!

Btw chick: being a medical student normally medical procedures shown on tv is utter nonsense, here what I understood was: Dadaji went into cardiac shock hence they were resuscitating him, then since it was a major attack I'm assuming all those ping pongs with instruments and bloody gloves was because they performed a procedure to determine the extent of muscular damage as a result of the attack.
Now that's enough of bhakbhak about the medical stuff on the show 😆

Will be back to give my detailed comments later 😆

Awesome post, chicksoup! 👏

The chess game was hugely symbolic ... it showed how the Anami-Narottam game would play out. Dialogues were kickass!!!

I still sorry for Narottam ... for the same reasons you mentioned. It appears that he has never gotten any love from anyone in his life, including his mother. For her, he is a pawn in her game of revenge, nothing more. Wonder if Anami's genuine affection and support will change him ... or whether he will stay black ... as he said, he likes the color black.

Shikhandi in the Mahabharat was born eunuch to take revenge from Bheeshma ... but that was her own revenge, her own wish. Here Narottam has been forced to play eunuch ... it is fairly clear that he is not really eunuch ... to fulfil his mother's thirst for revenge.

The actor playing Narottam is brilliant. The scene when Anami enters the Lal Mahal and his body language changes from normal man to effeminate ... subtle yet obvious. The shift is all in his body language and his eyes ... which go from menacing, calculating, to soft, meek, defenseless, entreating ...

The medical procedures shown were rubbish ... patient should be taken to ICU, not OT, after heart attack ... there was no ECG/cardiac monitor ... they were performing some surgical procedure for a heart attack ... whereas the immediate treatment is all medical ... and the patient did not even have an oxygen mask while surgery was supposedly going on, whereas oxygen is imperative post heart attack. But I have given up on any accuracy in medical procedures on Indian tv at all 😆😆
