Shyam that was AWESOME😲👏
Can we keep it for the actual Writer's thread?

@Adi Thats what I was keeping on saying. Iron with high amounts of carbon to make it lightweight and phosphorous to prevent rusting. And may be Gayatri Kavacha inscribed on it which is supposed to be provide protection all over.

@Brishti Can we change the Kavach accordingly? Also Karna's birth scene? My medical brain is getting caught on it, I am afraid😆. The pain of labor does not allow you to remain unconscious unless you have been chemically made unconscious. Plus she actually has to push the baby out. They don't pop out on their own😆. NOT asking you to describe labor😆, just that don't make her unconscious, please?

@Sabhayata We need Kunti Vyasa. Dhrith Vyasa can be written from Gandhari POV for a while but once DS starts he will need to have his own voice

Got this from the person who does the Ancientvoices website

Hi
Thank you for your words of appreciation. Currently I am going through a relatively busy patch of my life and is not getting enough time to update my website.

I have a detailed map of ancient India, including the Kurujangala region containing Khandava forest prepared in 2014. But I am not getting time to update it into the website. An approximate map of that area can be seen in the articles in the category "travel" where I planned to outlined all the travels mentioned in Mahabharata, especially the journeys of the Pandavas and particularly of Arjuna. This is however an incomplete work.

Khandava involves a lot of ancient politics. A Naga (Takshaka) allied to the Indra of that age, who himself had complex relationships with the Pandavas and Kauravas. Even the Nagas had multiple and complex relationships with the Kurus with a common ancestry during the time of Nahusha, Naga connection of Balarama and Kunti, Naga friends of Duryodhana and many more. Arjuna and Krishna were primarily motivated by one thing:- resources and territory for the new kingdom, which otherwise was a barren desert like country and the poorest regions of the Kuru kingdom. No other choice for the Pandavas to build a kingdom which required skills and resources from the Naga territory of Khandava by ousting the local Naga chief Takshaka and by getting the alliance of skilled architect like Danava Maya living there.

Panchali's origins are unknown much like that of other Pancha Kanyas like Sita, . We learn that Sita came from Earth, Panchali from Fire, Mandodari from Water (due to the frog connection), Tara from Space (as indicated by the name Tara: star) and Savitri from Air. Thus the five Kanyas are also having links to the five elements.

Apart from this the early life of the heroins are shrouded in mystery as the poets focused more on the heroes.

Panchali seems to be an adopted child, adopted along with her brave brother Dhristadyumna. Drupada wanted a warrior who can defeat Drona and he found that qualities in Dhristadyumna and he adopted both the brother and his sister as his sons and daughters probably by staging the drama of a fire ritual to convince the public that they are extra ordinary.

Regarding the tribal affiliation, i think both belonged to the Agnivesha clan, well known as ascetic warriors in the Panchala territories.

Regards
Jijith

Pritha touched the bottom of her stomach with both her hands. It was smooth, and warm. She always tried to hide herself from the surrounding people. She was insecure that people would get her wrong. These nine long months had taught her one thing though. Being in troublesome situations, you come out stronger. Sometimes, you are forced to be clever. You cannot help but think about how you can regain your comfort and drain your worries. Pritha felt the same. The princess who loved light, and sunshine and helping others carried herself away from all the royal household chores, and never showed her face to anyone. Pritha played with her plats and gently patted her tummy. She could feel the slight pain. The pain, which meant It was time. She understood what had happened to her, and knew she would have to pay for it. But Pritha could not convince herself that it was her fault. Every human is correct to his or her own self, and that is the basic and primary reason for their deeds, except a few exceptions. Pritha believed her wasn't an exception. "I need my life back." Pritha told herself. "But," this time she whispered, slowly, "I can't get my life in cost of yours, I can't." Her time of thinking slowly decreased, as the pain increased. "Ouch!" Pritha closed her eyes and the last thing she saw before she closed her eyes was her hands carefully grabbing her own stomach. She knew it would hurt a bit. The maids had told her. She tried and tried her best to push. She kept quiet and bared the pain as her force became slower. "A little more." she heard the voice. She tried again and atlast it was done. Pritha felt life near her.
"Its a prince" said the maids, as Pritha looked up tiredly. Pritha tried to smile to give them the message that she heard. But she had a lot of things to do. She was insecure, scared, and the worst feeling was, she did not want to see the first one, whom she had given life, her first son like this. "Can I have him?" Pritha held her hands out, and spotted a gold ring in her hand. "Ah, that would hurt him." Pritha pulled it out, and gave it to one of the maids. Slowly, with her blurred eyes, she saw the young one. Pritha took the boy in her arms and carefully focused on his eyes. They were grey. Just like hers. The boy was there, happily moving his hands and legs, with a bright smile. His skin colour was as gold, his head was full of hair, brown. When she held him up, she could see a birthmark on his small chest. It was quite visible, somewhat orange and brown. His smile held a hundred joys, and even in the dark moment, Pritha felt happiness flowing on her. She kissed the boy on her forehead, and held him close to her heart. "I have so much to tell you." she whispered. "But, I.." Before she could finish, she heard her companion's voice. "Pritha!" her voice was tensed. Pritha looked up, and there she was. "Pritha, feed him soon. We will have to leave him with the Kundalas as soon as possible." "But.." Pritha mumbled, and lost her words. "Who are the Kundalas?" she asked. "Kundalas, the group of soldiers from the Solar Dynasty. Pritha., listen. You will tell them, to be with your son at all times. They are tough, tough to defeat. Your son will be protected." Pritha found the idea good. "But that is not enough. We need something more for his safety and also I want my touch, something which I can give him. Who knows if I will meet him again?" a tear trinkled down Pritha's ashened cheeks. "What about a metal plate?" an old woman, one of the royal maids said. Pritha looked eager at the mention. "That can serve as a weapon,. or maybe come to some other need of the baby. Prince or not, one needs protection and war material. Pritha nodded her head. 'So be it then!" she said. She slowly kissed the baby once more, and fed him herself. "He is so tender.." Pritha said to herself. "But he has to be strong." she added. She took her face near the boy's, who hasn't even been named yet. "Son, you will have to be strong. I believe that you will get loving people to look after you. I am helpless. I cant accept you. If someday, again I meet you, I would like to see you happy, and strong. And yes, be selfish. The world is selfish. So you should be too." said Kunti, the princess of Kuntibhoj who called herself Pritha.
"Metal plate! Now from where will we get one?" Pritha said desperately. "I cannot leave him like this.." she continued.
The darkest hour of midnight came soon enough. Pritha had not felt her quarters the whole day. She lay on her bed, near her newborn. She kept one window open, to let the baby feel rays of sunshine. Sunshine, her most favourite thing in the Earth. Slowly, the rays faded, and the soothing moonlight fell in Pritha's room. She knew it was time to leave him. Pritha quickly took her baby, and hid her under her hands, convering him with cloth. She stepped out with her companion friend, outside her room. The palace floor felt cold as Pritha walked away, and out. FInally she reached the banks of the river. She sat down in the river bank and kissed the baby again. "Remember, what I said." Kunti told her son. She had instructed her companion to give the boy as much as treasure possible. Kunti opened her necklace and put it in the basket in which she kept the baby. The boy was asleep. The young one was noisy when he was awake, but calm when asleep. Quiet, in his dreams. Pritha put in as much as gold jewellery she could, and walked towards the Kundalas. Giving the baby to them she wiped her tears. "Please take care of him. Make sure he is found by someone, who wants him." Pritha wiped her tears again. She too had to be strong. Maybe she wasn't. And that is why she was here, hiding and creeping away from everyone. The Kundalas put the baby on a boat, and started their journey. The night was dark, Pritha sat there, staring at the boat moving away and away. She turned around, and wailed. Her companion sakhi sat next to her, and put her hands on her shoulder. "You had no choice, Pritha." she said. "I wish I could make myself one choice." she replied with a faint smile

I checked out the site, and the author was thinking along the same lines as I was planning. I was going to have Gandhari give birth to three children - Dury, Dushi, and Viki and the other sons were born to other kshatriya ladies. Thanks for the link Adi!

The one thing that doesn't make sense to me is the MB clearly indicates a time for when the Kauravas were born which I nor the author of ancient voice took into consideration.
"Then, O king, within a month, were born a full hundred sons unto Dhritarashtra and a daughter also in excess of this hundred" - this was after Dury was born.

Link to MB: http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m01/m01116.htm

His theory is nice, but it literally is just discarding the birth of the Kauravas as mentioned in the MB.

Anyhow, don't wait for me. Proceed on to the next parts and I'll post an update when I'm ready.

Guys
We have to seriously work on some timelines. I was talking to Brishti and Adi on PMs.

If Arjun's exile was 12 YEARS and not 12 months as southern versions say, things get a little(!) muddled.

SV clearly mentions UTTAR as a SUITOR. At the very least he would have been 15 or 16. Since UTTARA got pregnant soon after the wedding, we can assume she was 13 or 14 at the very least by then. The latest she can be born is the DS time.

If the exile was 12 years and prior to that they had a couple of years to stay in Panchal, move to KP, build the city etc etc and a couple of years after Subhi to build Maya Sabha, then there is a gap of 16-20 years at least between SV and DS.

That would mean Sudeshna had the two kids about 32-35 years apart! It's a near biological impossibility given how long women remain fertile.
