Encyclopedia britannica also says Akbar's fav wife was his Hindu wife,And the govt of India's website on history also does mention the same. And there is one website of some historian called Richard even he has mentioned the same.

Regarding Salim and Manbai marriage I will tell you something .They were maternal cousins that is Salim's mom jodha and Manbai's father Bhagwandas were brother and sister.Marriage between maternal cousins was very common those days all over India in Hindus.Because Hindu system believes in something called as "gotra" .These gotras talk about your ancestors which were mainly rishis that is saints.Marrying in same gotra was not allowed and even right now ,we hindus still don't marry in same gotra as we believe when our gotras are same then our bloodline is same and that's against our Hindu custom.
So paternal first cousins that's is kids of two brothers can't marry each other as it is the same family for Hindus. The gotras are same.In case of maternal cousins the gotras that is the ancestors were different and it was allowed those days.So Rukaiyya and Jalal marriage is not acceptable by Hindu custom but Muslims and parsis do marry.
The reason for dwindling no of Parsis in India is that Parsis are very strict in marrying with first cousin but since scientifically it's also not correct and so in Parsis infertility rate is very high and also the Down's syndrome too is high among their kids.
But Muslims are not so strict with first cousins marriage and do look beyond the family ,

My dear you can butt in anytime. I am learning so much reading and the additions from you all.

That is why it is said knowledge is power and reading is encourage. I love reading and since cv team have decided to use imagination only reading from the source is very important to get the whole picture.

Abhay,

When the writer says the Prince of Age he is referring to Akbar right?

Akbar truly was liberal and had a lot of opinions when it comes to religions there is a lot of debate on such. Ekta Jalal can't be compared to Akbar he was very mobile not only in the harem.

There was a place that a priest was debating on monogamy. Please explain:

" Hindu women maybe divided into five classes with regard to their methods of expressing grief for the death of their husband. He said that some will walk into the flames of fire and burn with their husbands

So far what I as foreigner read in the memories of Salim he hard his weakness which was drugs, addiction to alcohol and women. But he respected his mother and father and he treated his brothers children, and the harem very well after his father.

There were some comments that people are misinterpreting to their own agenda.

1. Salim ordered his Son Khurram to bring his " Hazrat Maryam Zamani and the other ladies to him and said I embarked in a boat and went to a village name Dahr to meet my mother" and had the good fortune to be received by her. This is very important if one thinks of his mother as a fortune to him it is love, respect and adoration in one, altogether.

One thing that I laughed loud about is that when Salim was praising his forster mother who served the Mughal so faithfully that he was under her care so had so much affection for her more than his own mother people have taking this statement as though Salim didn't love his own mother. Wow what a shallow thinking. All he meant was he loved her a little more than he loved his own mother because she was with him and his caregiver and so he considered her as mother and her children as his brother. This can be seen clearly when he said " that his forster mother was kinder than my own kind mother". Salim is saying his mother was a kind woman and his forster mother was also/more kinder.

He as mentioned about him mother more in his memories he said his son Parwiz marriage to daughter of Prince Murad was done in Her Highness Maryam-Zamani

Salim didn't even stay in Arga most of the time he was always on the move Kabul or Lahore.

The only time he mentioned Rugayya Sultan Began daughter of Mirza Hindal he said she had not performed a pilgrimage to her father's tomb, on that day had the honour to do so when the harem was brought to him and MUZ was also there. All the other information have been shared by Abhay, Ela and co already.

I wonder where this cv team are getting their strange info. It is a shame.

If anything Salima is mentioned to love Salim very much instead of showing this they are showing Salim accusing her of drugging him😕

@bold
Nanayaa dear you are not Indian?
And if you are not and for taking so much interest in India and it's history and doing a proper research ,I really bow down to you.
I am ashamed of fellow Indians like Shaurya Singh who even belonging to this country are making fun of its history.
That Delhi which has a good and an intelligent boy like Abhay ,it has a devil like Shaurya too.
@Abhay your part of the city gets distiller water of Yamuna and Shaurya has all the impurities which has screwed his brain.😆

Thanks for the interesting information. Gosh, I hate the cvs more and more now. All of us are reading and finding something totally different from them. Happily they switched the role of Salima to Ruks...

I seriously feel that Ekta has left this serial long back to its own fate.As how come even a side actor like Shaurya start tweeting bizarre tweets without fearing Ekta's reactions ? Nor a stupid and a lafanga looking man Manish is fit to be the writer of this show.
As shaurya's tweets were mostly glorifying Ruku and somehow were attacking MUZ .Now there is no need for him to have some enmity with the real one who has died 450 years back. And he hasn't been tweeting even against SA whose leap in the show is not welcomed by anybody .Though he favorited my tweet where I mocked Anarkali but he seems still ok with her.
Then why only jodha? When he should be complaining against Ruku who has taken screen-space of everybody but he is doing aarti of her .So why poor Jodha?
Jodha's dresses are again 3 still when even Salima is tweeting with new dresses.Dont even talk about Ruku.
The writer too loves Ruku and hasn't even come with full support of Jo .
From consummation episode they have constantly degraded Jo and have made her a biggest fool.
Though Jalal is also shown a fool but jodha is degraded costumewise, dialogue wise or shabby make up wise .
Since most of us know history of Akbar and so we say that he is degraded but from aam Janta POV he is like a normal hero of any show
Never of Ekta's any heroine was in such a sorry state appearance wise or script wise too like Jo .
There is something more than meets the eye .
And yes there is no panga with Karni Sena here or any political party it seems .

My dear...what made you think Noor was close to Ruk? Noor stayed with Salima and it was Salima who was approached by Salim for marriage...Internet blogs say different story and books different...Actually in 20th wife Ruk is Padshah begum and harem incharge and Noor stays with her...but its a total lie...Again Noor and Ruk were power hungry woman...How can they live together peacefully? Salim's inner coteri was Noor, her parents, her brother and Khurram...Sadly Salim himself did not include his sons Shaharyaar and Parvez...I can understand his not including Khusaro but why not the other two sons? Khurram and Noor had a power struggle and Salim watched quietly...Salim did not realise that Noor was an outsider...His family which had no stake in the well being of Mughal sultanat...I feel sorry for Jalal...Such was Noor's mismanagement that income from Khalsa had come to half..but Salim was powerless to do anything...things did not really improve under Khurram either..Akbar charged only 1/3rd of Lagaan while Khurram chaged 1/2...Jagirdari problems too were raising their heads and none of the mughals after Akbar had the political insight to tackle them...Result is obvious to all..
