I am catching written updates of Maharana Pratap and that show is coming across as interesting one also...

The thing is > They blend history with fiction well, and no unnecessary screen space to side characters. It is about MP, so maximum space is for him only...

But in JA, the problem is instead of Jodha Akbar, everyone gets the space - Salim, Anarkali, Ruqaiya, etc. etc. Earlier it was Maham...!!!!!



Hoping in Ashoka no nonsense approach will be followed as the PH there is same as Maharana Pratap...I will catch written updates...

History of Ashoka is also interesting, the problem is > not as much material is available for him as it is available for Akbar and Maharana Pratap.. But still , if we search some old authors and Directors of ASI have written a lot on him...I must say, a very hard life to lead and begin with...And he ruled such a vast empire, and maintained it..More bigger than Akbar or any other successor ..! He ruled that time when there was NO precedence in administration other than the majorly Pastoral Economy of Vedic Age. His grand father was Chandragupta Maurya, a show on him would be equally interesting. :))

There can not be some sensible sequences, no political deliberations, nothing. But always this kind of boring indoor activities... I am sure Anarkali will impress someone in the palace and gain access there and she will surely show some hunar to impress the royal harem.

Coming to Akbarnama, I am now at Page 200. I have reached 1558...

So far it mostly talks about Akbars trip to Gujarat, his encounters, most that all of u know. Something interesting I could pick was the following. This already Abhay mentioned.

1. In order to do honor of Raja Bhagwan Das, his auspicious sister who held high rank in imperial harem was sent off in order that she must be present at the mourning of Bhupat who had fallen in battle of Sarnial.
2. Elephants used to be the name of the rook at chess, now is that of Bishop
3. Akbar used to tame wild elephants. In his younger days Akbar used to enjoy taming wild elephants as a hobby. He would even be a spectator of elephant fights, in which two massive elephants would fight each other from very close quarters. He would be sitting on top of one of them.

U are right Abhay. Everyone will get impressed with Anar, but something is going to happen it seems and then Tansen will be asked to decide if Anar should work for the Palace as a singer or not. Its going to be hilarious only
