Aaah, Kwerky... I am turning out to be so disorganized... Kucch bhi nahin kiyaa hai mainey...
During my lunch break today, I will head out to do some shopping. If nothing else, I will buy a bunch of chocolates today... We have some really chocolatiers here - and most of their "fresh chocolates" don't have a very long shelf life, so in that sense, it is also kinda okay to buy them just before my departure.
I didn't want to leave anything for the end, but in all probability, as I foresee, I will probably be rushing from store to store to complete my gift-shopping until the very last minute. 😳 😳

But jaaney se pehley, I will certainly drop by to say my goodbyes... I won't leave without that... 🤗

While the character of Mike Ross/Patrick Adams is quite nice, I find Harvey Specter's character to be pretty interesting too. Hopefully, it evolves into a well-etched character as the series progresses...I will definitely start with the rest of the season today as I have nothing else to watch right now. I just finished the series re-run of "Modern Family" yesterday.😆..was watching it again over the past few weeks...and every time you re-watch an episode, you find something terribly funny which you missed last time...😆

As I was watching "Suits", I was reminded of another series "White Collar"...maybe because that too has two men working together. Turns out both shows belong to the same network. Have you seen it? The plot is very different ..but it is also a character driven show (crime-buster/comedy/drama). And if you find Patrick Adams handsome, you will be definitely enchanted by Matt Bomer who plays the lead in "White Collar".😳😳 It is also a well-written show ...set in the white collar crime unit within FBI...and has some interesting regular characters. The series ended last year...Which was very sad...

@Veep: You give me so much credit for Veep, it'd almost appear as though you credit me for writing-producing-directing it... 😆😆

@Harvey Spector: I binge-watched the first three seasons of the show, and I have to be frank that I could not quite come to appreciate any of the characters in "Suits". I literally only just like Patrick Adams so much that I could watch the show for him (not even for his character).
There is an intrinsic error in the reasoning of the show... If Mike were such a genius, why wouldn't a lawyer as shrewd as Harvey encourage him to get his law degree rather than inducing him to commit fraud. This is never clarified adequately - and it is such a big loop-hole in the plot, that I can't start to take "the best closer in town" hype seriously.
The show is also formulaic in that it follows the journey of an apprentice who aspires to be be like the master (Scrubs), or how people cope in dysfunctional workplaces (Ugly Betty, Veep, etc)...

@White Collar: Nahin, I had never watched it. Thank you for the recommendation.
I have however gathered all the episodes, and all the seasons. I'll watch it during my vacation. 😃

@Modern family re-runs: Yeah, that is always the case when shows have richly developed characters. During the first viewing, we can't focus on each one of them separately, but during the re-runs, you can focus your attention on one or the other character, and then you find something that you had missed in the first viewing. 😆😆

I real-l-l-y enjoyed reading everything about your Kumaon visit and all the temples and how your mother reaches out to people she thinks might be Kumaonis...how lovely. Yes, the Chitaii temple is the one with bells. They are all beautiful. And of course, all the daadis/aammas went only to the temples. 😆 Aah...the word - "Eeja" - I love that reference to mother in pahaadi. 😳
Same pinch...I never thought much about the singhals too. 😆 Sometimes they would be a coarse blob of fried dough...not very appetising. But singauri (the smell of the maalu leaf!) was right at the top...followed by the plain baal mithai (without the sugar balls)...and then there were some khoyaa pedas coated with very fine sugar...and then the regular baal mithai. 😳
And the bhat ki chuttkaani..yumm! 😳 I remember the huge pahaadi cucumbers which were grated and made into a heavenly raita with mustard and green chillies and fresh coriander...and the green pumpkins which my father lugged back on his trips...the vegetables from the mountains have such a beautiful taste.
Nostalgia!😳😛
@Kashmiri food: The blog which I shared with you has some very authentic Kashmiri recipes. I have a couple of more blogs bookmarked which have the exact recipes which we follow at our place...authentic Kashmiri food. Kashmiri food is made without onion and garlic and uses only jeera/heeng for tempering, followed by all those spice powders. I will look those links up and will send them to you with any tips/additions I might have... of course, please feel free to ask me any questions anytime...
There is another nice (north Indian) version of dum aloo...maybe that is what your mother prepares.

@Fasting: I've managed to fast until now (of course, I have eaten a small meal every night, in addition to a huge variety of fruits)... Fasting at this time is exhausting (what with the chill), but it is also very satisfying. 😳

@ Order of ranking for sweets: Same for me. I too prefer the baal mithai without the sugar balls...

@Vegetables: Yeah, it must be something in the soil.
I've never been too fond of pumpkins, but I do remember the local berries - predominantly the "kaafals". We never get them in Delhi, even though they seemed to be so integral to that region. I remember, my grandmother even told me a story of Kaafals and birds and a shepherd boy... [If they have built folktales around it, it must really be a beloved fruit...]

@Recipes: Thank you, Kwerky! 🤗 🤗
I will probably only get a chance to try anything out after I return from Delhi. [I don't anything when I am on vacation. 😆]

@bold: 😆😆 Achcha...zyada ho gaya kya?😆 I had seen the promos here on HBO..but never actually sat down to see the show until you recommended it. 😊

@Suits: Of course, it is filled with plot holes. In addition to the ones you mentioned, I can't wrap my head around the fact that Mike Ross was hired as an Associate at a prestigious law firm and the HR didn't even bother to finish the hiring procedure which includes submitting copies of your degrees etc? 😆 Nowhere in the corporate world you are hired like that even if you are backed by someone like Harvey Specter.

Edit:
@White Collar: I am pretty sure you won't dislike it...the chemistry between the two (male) leads keeps getting better with every passing season. Matt Bomer is a dream...and I was a little surprised to know that he is gay. 😳😆

It is the same here...shopping till the last minute whenever we go back home. And that is why I said that the days will go off in a jiffy...first-hand experience. 😆

Aaah...the fresh chocolates in Europe...delicious! I have had similar chocolates from Neuhaus...they have very interesting fillings and are superb.

Actually, I am usually very organized... I am often gathering things to take back home all the time, so when the time to return comes, I am never rushed. Last year, I had broken ribs and was in so much pain for a whole month before my return that I didn't have time to do much shopping just before my departure, but I still took enough gifts for everyone when I returned (because I had already gathered something for almost everyone through the previous months)...
You see, it is rather common for people living here to cross the border into France or Italy to find good bargains from time to time. And every time I go on my shopping excursions, I'm often buying stuff not just for myself but also for family, so when the time comes to return, I have enough already...
This year, I realize that I've been under so much stress that I've not gone shopping enough. 😆😆

So, you like Belgian pralines. I'm kinda surprised that you do. Sometimes, it is hard to find the ones which don't contain egg or some amount of alcohol. It took me quite a while to find chocolates (acceptable for some of my austere-diet-following family). I usually buy the chocolates from this place:
http://www.laederach.com/ch-en.html

The ones I like the most are:
http://www.laederach.com/ch-en/assortment/detail/product/mixed_fruit--08753.html
and
http://www.laederach.com/ch-en/assortment/detail/product/blackberry--08715.html

I have a friend who is a hobby chocolatier... She insists that it is easy to make them at home, even once invited me over to teach me how to temper chocolates, but it was such a messy process, I never had the inclination to try it out myself...

@Veep: Haan, almost every time you mentioned it, you mentioned me in the same breath. 😛

@Suits: I only have it until Season 3... Actually, utney mein hi mann bhar gayaa hai meraa...
There are shows like "Modern Family" or "The Middle" - I can watch an entire season in one day... and I enjoy the show even more than if I were watching the show one episode per week...
With "Suits", it has just worn me down. 😛

@White Collar: Oh... I'm already intrigued. Strangely, I had never even heard of the show (or of Matt) until you mentioned it (him)... 😆

How time flies... It is already navami today...

Tomorrow, Vijay Dashami is also (Shirdi-waale) Sai Baba's punyatithi...

This string of autumn festivals is my favourite time... I wish, I could also be in India for the Navratri...
