I have heard about this show, never watched it.
Meanwhile, I found some (disturbing) news. Anil Kapoor is working on adapting "Modern Family" in India. ๐ Whatever it will turn out to be, it will surely NOT be anything like "Modern Family". The families, their quirks, their family members can't be replicated in India because it doesn't resonate with the Indian culture...and that is what makes the show very funny. Anything else will not be MF. So why call it an adaption in the first place? We have had some very good shows based around madcap families (Sarabhai, Khichdi etc...) and they were all original! You understand what I am saying?๐ I mean can you imagine a couple like Cam and Mitchell in India? That's not even legal. So all he is gong to do is adapt the "mockumentary" format...๐ค
Edit: Btw, did you understand what the fuss is all about regarding "Quantico" and Priyanka Chopra? I saw one episode and was far from impressed with the boring story/treatment and her accent. Bollywood and its over-zealous, over-enthusiastic members and their chest-thumping over anything remotely Hollywood is sad.
Yes, I finally scrolled through the news and whatever is happening in India is unbearable, to put it mildly. The whole controversy over beef just bombed the country back to the stone ages and it is very unpleasant...
@Suits: It is a show based on a law firm...
I'm quite sure law firms don't operate like they do in "Suits", but with some suspension of disbelief, I can watch it for Patrick Adams. ๐ณ๐ณ๐ณ
@Anil Kapoor: Did you watch his remake of 24?
I also have a crush on Kiefer Sutherland [Do you already think that I am very reckless? ๐], and I could barely have imagined the desi version of 24 to come close to recapitulating the awesomeness of the original. [Kiefer's replacement is Anil Kapoor; bolo - how can anyone even imagine that travesty!]
Do you know - which role will AK be playing in the desi Modern Family? Jay Pritchett? Doesn't he think that he is too young to be playing that part already? ๐๐ณ๐
And you are absolutely right... At most, if Jay has a gay son in India, the son will be closeted, and all jokes involving gay people will only reek of regressive standards that the modern state of India upholds (vis-a-vis homosexuality)...
I guess, you are right... he's probably just trying to make a show in the mockumentary format...
@PC: Naah... I have no patience for that. I had already guessed that all the gushing amounts to nothing... ๐๐๐
