BB every year has a set pattern - an older (usually ill-behaved) actor: Aman Varma this year;... a few TV bahus: quite a few there this year; ...someone from the LGBT community;... a faded actress and actor/one-film wonder(s) from the big screen;... a couple of young men with pumped up bodies to pander to the fangirls; AND someone from Salman Khan's coterie😆...etc etc...they seem to have filled all their quotas again this year with all the rumored contestants. 😆 Everything else is a bonus. 😆

And after only a casual perusal of the TOI website, I wasn't quite left with any interest in the news either. terrible things are happening in India - a man was lynched to death on suspicions that he ate beef, eminent writers are turning in their state-bestowed awards to protest against the stifling of free speech in the country, Arvind Kejriwal's minister was implicated in corruption and AK used the opportunity for more grand-standing, the air quality in Delhi is set to get worse this year... I just can't take it anymore.

Yes, I finally scrolled through the news and whatever is happening in India is unbearable, to put it mildly. The whole controversy over beef just bombed the country back to the stone ages and it is very unpleasant...

Also - the festive season is upon us. I intend to say a prayer for my father's shraadh tomorrow, and from day after, I am planning to fast for the navratri - but I'm not quite sure that fasting for all the days will even be possible for me... 😳

It is not feasible/possible to fast on all the days of Navratri if you are working. I have never done fasting over all the 9 days...usually it is only Ashtami during both navratris (as it is the grandest day of the navratri period at my in-laws...they are Kashmiri Pandits..) and Ram Navmi during the Chaitra Navratri.

Is Aman Verma really the older, ill-mannered actor? I last saw him on the desi version of "I am a superstar, get me out of here" (or whatever), and he seemed rather docile in it...

But I also remember a time when I was still in India - there was a news channel sting on him and Shakti Kapoor in which he was soliciting sexual favours from a girl with the promise that he will introduce her to some big-shot... He probably scores big on moral bankruptcy, but I'd not have imagined him to be ill-mannered...

Meanwhile, I found some (disturbing) news. Anil Kapoor is working on adapting "Modern Family" in India. 😕 Whatever it will turn out to be, it will surely NOT be anything like "Modern Family". The families, their quirks, their family members can't be replicated in India because it doesn't resonate with the Indian culture...and that is what makes the show very funny. Anything else will not be MF. So why call it an adaption in the first place? We have had some very good shows based around madcap families (Sarabhai, Khichdi etc...) and they were all original! You understand what I am saying?😆 I mean can you imagine a couple like Cam and Mitchell in India? That's not even legal. So all he is gong to do is adapt the "mockumentary" format...🤔

Edit: Btw, did you understand what the fuss is all about regarding "Quantico" and Priyanka Chopra? I saw one episode and was far from impressed with the boring story/treatment and her accent. Bollywood and its over-zealous, over-enthusiastic members and their chest-thumping over anything remotely Hollywood is sad.
