Personally I blamed Dritarastra for the whole mess. Mahabhrata actually teaches us the importance of parents in our lives. Look what Kunti did to Karna, what Dritarastra did to Duryodhan and what Dhrupad did to Draupadi.

That is what I don't get! Firstly, Draypadi didn't insult Duryodhan. She did not ever laugh at him. NO! It is just a big hype that she did. Neither KMG nor CE say that out. When Duryodhan fell into water mistakingly, the Pandavs laughed. Duryodhan just went to HP and made it a huge fact and lied to Dhritrashtra that she laughed on him. He wanted to use Draupadi to avenge Pandavs. This is the true fact! So blaming Draupadi is not useful! She was just a 'nimit matra' to the war not the reason.

Well, the Rajagopachari version says she did call her a blind.

Yeah, but in polygamy the man chooses his wives and how much time he wants to spend with each while in polyandry the woman is supposed to be impartial and devoid of feelings.

And wasn't it said that having 1 common wife made them into 1 strong family- the pandavas. Otherwise they couldn't put up a strong enough front.

Some tribes in HP practise polyandry so that the property doesn't get divided.

Sorry dear, actually I am a huge Draupadi fan so had to answer Debby first. So haan, it is actually wrong. People firstly divide a woman into five men and then start expecting that she will be just with all while her hubbies can do what they wish. But then it was Dwaparyug so things will not be same as now. But this is actually so so mentalating that she was actually thought to be equal with all her hubbies while they can have their wishes.🤢

That water trick was done to insult him.

I have no idea about that version. But the water trick was not a trap surely. The palace was constructed with great tricks. Everywhere. The doors used to open themselves on different commands. And anyways Dueyodhan was not the prone of such tricks once but many a times. That is why he was irritated. His anger built up when he was "insulted" .

polygamy was accepted then and even now because men can have many no. of wives its a male dominated society and till the end of the world it will be the same...😡
