Vani kapoor's character:Unreal, too cool to be true.
She was left alone in the mandap. Yes, it was too funny to see, asking for a cool drink but some drama from her side would have made it real. Also, her backstory and her attitude change did not kind of gel.

The girl, though did well for a debut movie and yes Savs, she seemed a lil doped, smiling most of the times.

It works for Jaipur as it is a huge tourist destination, that brings a certain sense of 'cosmo' to the city.

That makes sense, Howie. I loved how the hustle and bustle of Jaipur was such a key to the film. Plus the color palette - the pink city, gulabi the song and pink as a romantic color, such beautiful in terms of colors and textures.

On sexual mores - color me shocked. The India I left behind was a lot more conservative. There was a casual acceptance to the fact that Parineeti's character lived with her boyfriends and that Sushant's character was the newest brother *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* It was handled so well.

Savs: I too thought Vaani Kapoor was excellent - great debut. But I loved her toothpaste ad smile! I thought that was her defense against life's googlies, that and the demand for a cold drink!

Howie.. 0.5 marks?🤣 I think lot had to do with the setting, I found it difficult to comprehend that something like this could happen in a small city and more importantly the absence of slow burn in a relationship which is where BBB aced this. 😃

Doc, Gayatri drove the relationship and that decimated her harmonal tendency😉

Promise to watch at least a couple of epi of JA this week Savs😃

Visi..this may be a good week to read WU before jumping in. I read about a promo in the forum which made me have head desk moments

I have no idea on JA but my neighbor is eagerly awaiting for today's episode. Oh she was like - 'Thank god finally today is monday and I can watch JA' at the kids bus-stop. Reminded me of our IPK days. Seems like the preggo track is not true - just an misunderstanding planted between Jodha and Akbar and seems like Ekta is really churning out this soap much better and the trademark Ekta twists are not there. No wonder it is now the top serial at 8 PM time slot dethroning Ballika Vadhu.

Ji.. so much for the strides made last two weeks in their relationship.😕

Best Exotic - that is an impressive assortment of acting stalwarts in the preview.

Howie: I liked Vaani's character - quirky and individualistic. She explains the cold drink obsession in the scene in the bus with Parineeti. When she's confused she asks for a cold drink, it gives her something to do. I figured her too wide smile and the cold drink demand are her weapons when things get crazy. As she demonstrates to Sushant when he asks that unfeeling, insensitive question about being left at the altar, it's not that she doesn't care. It's not her style to crumble and wear her heart on her sleeve. She's more a show not tell kinda gal - Sushant learns first hand how she felt at being jilted. And when she sees the writing on the wall at the end, she decamps - not just decamps but she's able to cut all emotional connection with the two losers who seem only to be able to inflict hurt. It was very much a an underwritten character and I thought Vaani did a nice job in connecting the dots. Sure there's some dramatic licence but I found her both interesting and credible.

BTW I am thinking of jumping to Tumhari Pakhi from today. Do let me know if any of you are interested in joining the forum. Half the people in EBP forum are jumping to this show and hopefully the forum would be a better place to discuss and debate.
