SDR: I loved it... Maneesh - 3 movies strong and has shown a certain command on this genre. Impressed.

Well, the phan girl in me jumped out for 2 reasons
1. Rishi Kapoor. I loved him in every frame he was. Esp, when Sushant and Parineeti separately talk to him doing their enquiries. Also, in the credits i demand to know everything Rishi kapoor ate in the scenes. *Salivating still*
2. The gulabi song: The picturization of the song just had me in so much awe of the "creatives".

Yep, am super game to SDR... but having seen it only once when it released, i will rely on my memory 😳

Long distance Rabba Ve never fails! 😉 So one of my biggest questions about the movie is how true to small town India is the film. I found the exploration of romantic relationships wonderful, but is it a parallel universe? This was Jaipur, not Bombay or Bangalore.

Have not paid much attention to TP, Savs. I'll probably give it a week to settle down and then watch...how about you? Were you planning on watching?
Doc, watched Promised Land, Castle and IPK. That is all life gave allowance for...😃...and of course, am trying to finish up on The Lowland.

Nice! We should have a nice little group for the Lowland discussion. Definitely a lot to chew on.

I haven't seen Ricky Behl, didn't hear good things about it. I did love Band Baaja. I agree the director seems maahir in the rom-com genre.

I loved Rishi Kapoor too - what a great role and he performed it with total relish.

I thought the music worked wonderfully, better in the film than on it's own.

Visi, Shoomie has "volunteered" to watch the first episode and post here😈 Currently watch JA, though the upcoming Ekta infamous track looks very gloomy and may be another one bites the dust😕 Dekhna padega how this week pans out.

Small town india - i think this movie would be a stretch as far as relationships go. But not a lot given the cultural/traditional changes that are happening in India . Esp, if the city has either a Services based or a tourist based revenues flowing in.
It works for Jaipur as it is a huge tourist destination, that brings a certain sense of 'cosmo' to the city.

Visi, you planning to watch "Tumhari Pakhi" tomorrow?

EKC Doc 😊 SDR - me no love but liked it. My like stems a lot from the fact for once the girls are mature, grounded, practical and realistic while the boy is immature, impulsive and harmonal😉 The second half of the movie for me was far more interesting than the first half. Liked the local imprint of the surroundings throughout the movie and Rishi Kapoor was awesome.

Savs, Parineeti's character is impulsive and hormonal too, no? I actually liked that the girls were not shrinking violets and as Sushant's character put it delicately had their own "armaan"

Loved RK enacting the "daudte" scene where he explains pretty much the crux of the movie😃 Vaani Kapoor was impressive too, liked her in the airport scene a lot though I did feel that she could have toned down the smile in a couple of scenes.

Hum bhi agree with Doc, liked BBB a lot, this comes second and last is Ricky Bahl. The last one was more for Parineeti's impressive screen debut.

Savs... tell us bhy SDR didnt get the 0.5 marks to go to the Loved list...bhy bhy
Doc: The issue with ricky behl was, the 'un-real' ploys to get an one-up in the game that the leads were playing. But the characters by themselves, very real and believable. Its definitely not his best.

Makes sense Howie...have not watched the movie but have heard about it, so have some idea of what is being discussed. Back in college, I remember a friend remarking that we would be surprised at the goings on in the village mustard fields under the cover of darkness 😊
Promise to watch at least a couple of epi of JA this week Savs😃
