Yeah somehow I always feel the warmth of people in India much more than the desis I came across in US. I have been to so many places but never did I felt so disappointed as I felt that day and this was about 5 days before we were to board the plane for good and I had to go to the doctor and get the thorns removed which pricked me all on my backside. Really a duh day for me.
We were touring Rajasthan last Oct and for some reason the rail ticket we had booked didn't get confirmed and now a days in Indian Railways online booking, if the ticket is not confirmed, it would stand to be cancelled and we were supposed to reach Bikaaner from Agra - a good 8 hrs of journey. When we were discussing as to what the next options were for us with our 2 young girls in tow and luggage, one auto fellow caught on our conversation and immediately took us around Agra to his known travel agents and got us a ticket in a bus that was leaving in another 2 hrs and we reached Bikaaner right on our schedule. Kabhi Kabhi I feel people become alienated in US but shouldn't it be the ulta, I mean you are all there as a community but I hardly have seen that feeling in the Bay area where I stayed for 13 yrs.
yeah..i understand desis r not into fake smiles n hello hi to strangers, especially if they r fellow desis…but i would have asked if there was a pregnant woman not able 2 walk n standing in the middle of aisle, holding on to the closest shelf….n i also had a better experience when i was in india….anyways…..it's ok …he he… :)
