This show seems VERY similar to the old Pakistani show called Dhoop Kinare. I'm not sure if anyone here has watched it but that had a similar plot. And it was centered around an older man / younger woman pairing.
Rajan Shahi's new show dealing with doctors' lives for Sony will have Kritika and Mohnish playing central characters..
The success of fiction shows like Bade Acche Laggte Hai and Saas Bina Sasuraal has finally given Sony Entertainment Television a strong hold on their fiction programming! With this, the channel now attempts to add more and more unique fiction shows in their line-up. And after Ekta Kapoor, it is the turn of ace Producer Rajan Shahi to come up with an interesting concept, for the first time on Sony..
We hear that Rajan Shahi has roped in Kritika Kamra and seasoned actor Mohnish Behl to play the central characters in the show.
A little birdie tells us, "Mohnish Behl will once again essay the role of a senior doctor in the show after his stint with Dill Mill Gayye. His life is completely dedicated to his patients, and his bland lifestyle has made him cynical and cold-hearted. His life takes a new turn when the bubbly and full of life young girl, played by Kritika joins the hospital as the new intern. Their varying attitude towards life and the way in which they cope with it will pave way for a fascinating new relationship between them. In addition to Mohnish and Kritika, talented actor Rukhsar will also play a pivotal role".
When contacted, Mohnish Behl confirmed his presence via a text message saying, "Yes, let's hope that the show works".
Even after repeated attempts, we could not get through to Kritika Kamra.
The promo for the show is being shot presently, and will be on air very soon. The channel plans to launch the show in September.
When contacted, Producer Rajan Shahi told us that he would not want to comment on anything now.
We hope this refreshing concept makes a name for itself on television...
Errr RS show... they are SO going to butcher Dhoop Kinaray... *shakes head*
Awww Fivrayyy *pulls cheeks*

Actually this sounds more like an attempt to redo Sanjeevani...the PRE DMG era so to speak...dunno if Sanjeevani itself was a copy of this Dhoop Kinarey show you guys are talking about.
I'm intrigued...I like Mohnish Behl and I loved him as Dr. Shashank in the original Sanjeevani...but dunno if the show will have much class.
Hi everyone *waves*
@Fivr: So you finally caught up on Gulaal...good...you want an avi on his sad laugh?? You're such a masochist...lol...ok will try to make it later today.

Oh Anu...don't even speak of Dhoop Kinarey and Sanjeevni/DMG like shows in one sentence. Dhoop Kinarey was a classic...that was my second most favourite show of that era so you could get the idea how awesome it was...mujhey koi aisi waisi cheez bhi pasand ai hai kabhi?
Oh and actually even I want an avi of that bit...even if I have to share it with Fivr..😛
Waise where are you busy these days...you come here late n then I have to go sleep...bohat thora sa time milta hai baat karne ko. Khair you watched Gulaal yet? I'm going to watch it just now...
@ Amy - LOL, that's the male lead on a new show called Dharampatni. He's supposed to be this geek who moves abroad for post secondary education and returns as a snide and arrogant "hottie". LMAO!
@ Anu - I think the concept of Sanjeevani was inspired by Dhoop Kinaare itself. The latter show was wildly popular in India/Pakistan back in the 80's from what I've heard. People used to schedule weddings and social events around the show so that they wouldn't miss it, lol. I think that's when the hospital backdrop started to become a desirable premise for soap operas. I haven't watched Sanjeevani but as for CMG, let's not even go there. It's not worth DK's toenail if you ask me! 😆
