Oh and Vas...yesterday I finished watchng season 1 of Nikita. Gulaal ke chakar mein main sab bhool gai.You asked me if I lost interest because of the 17th epi. No...not because of it...I just thought the epis were getting more predictable and ok-ish. Waise I think they did lose the whole Micheal Nikita sexual tension angle...that was one big pull for me...watching them on opposite sides and yet wanting to be with each other. Now even if they do have things to resolve, there's no major complication b/w them. But the season finale was great...real roller coaster...this is what I wanted to see...more action, surprises, conflict. Now I'm interested to see how they'll pan out the NIkita-Alex angle. I don't think both of them could ever harm each other even if they do work against each other...just like Micheal Nikita previously.

While in BATiff she played the role a coquettish woman with ease, here she beautifully waltzed into the role of a princess bitten by the winds of liberty. Even Greggory Peck seemed to drift into the background.
I loved the way they handled the whole plot, especially the ending. The fact that she gracefully accepted her reality and went off her way, the treatment meted out to the last scene was truly appreciable. Even the fact that the photographer friend handed her all her pictures was a remarkable gesture, unlike the usual craftly plot.
Oh, and she looked stunning in the last scene, in that knee-length white gown. Even in that schoolgirl apparel, she looked so cute! I love those kind of dresses.
PS- Do you have any Audrey Hepburn sigs?

I loved her in Sabrina, one of my favourite films. I watched it after I watched that film Yeh Dillagi which I think was a copy of it.

There's something so pure about her in Sabrina...and I loved her chemistry with Bogart, esp. in that song La Vie En Rose when he's trying to keep her away from his brother. I also liked her in Funny Face even though I didn't like the film itself that much. Or rather, I liked the film but Fred Astaire was way too old (and old-looking) for her. I liked their witty chemistry though, in the early scenes...but it seemed way too much like cradle-snatching for me to root for them to get married 😆 And though I liked My Fair Lady, maybe it's because I've seen Pygmalion that I didn't enjoy MFL as much. Plus since her voice was dubbed anyway, it really detracted from that enjoyment.

The funny thing is, she has a slim filmography, yet she is so pervasive in the world of Hollywood...she was, I think, more a STAR than an actor, and I don't think that is a criticism of her. I don't know which modern actress I could compare her to, to make the point without insulting her 😆 She just had this effervescent quality that overrode any objections to her acting talent...if there were any.

And to top it off, she was a fantastic human being, by all accounts so kind, giving and loving.

I don't have sigs that I made, but I did find these somewhere online at some point, so I guess you are free to use them 😆

This show seems VERY similar to the old Pakistani show called Dhoop Kinare. I'm not sure if anyone here has watched it but that had a similar plot. And it was centered around an older man / younger woman pairing.

Rajan Shahi's new show dealing with doctors' lives for Sony will have Kritika and Mohnish playing central characters..

The success of fiction shows like Bade Acche Laggte Hai and Saas Bina Sasuraal has finally given Sony Entertainment Television a strong hold on their fiction programming! With this, the channel now attempts to add more and more unique fiction shows in their line-up. And after Ekta Kapoor, it is the turn of ace Producer Rajan Shahi to come up with an interesting concept, for the first time on Sony..

We hear that Rajan Shahi has roped in Kritika Kamra and seasoned actor Mohnish Behl to play the central characters in the show.

A little birdie tells us, "Mohnish Behl will once again essay the role of a senior doctor in the show after his stint with Dill Mill Gayye. His life is completely dedicated to his patients, and his bland lifestyle has made him cynical and cold-hearted. His life takes a new turn when the bubbly and full of life young girl, played by Kritika joins the hospital as the new intern. Their varying attitude towards life and the way in which they cope with it will pave way for a fascinating new relationship between them. In addition to Mohnish and Kritika, talented actor Rukhsar will also play a pivotal role".

When contacted, Mohnish Behl confirmed his presence via a text message saying, "Yes, let's hope that the show works".

Even after repeated attempts, we could not get through to Kritika Kamra.

The promo for the show is being shot presently, and will be on air very soon. The channel plans to launch the show in September.

When contacted, Producer Rajan Shahi told us that he would not want to comment on anything now.

We hope this refreshing concept makes a name for itself on television...

I know, man! I saw that article too. Khushi is what, a shaadi-whisperer? Or the "epitome" of Indian sanskriti and sabrihyata? And to top it off, how insulting to that Lavanya girl?! TBH I haven't seen the show and don't know about her, so she could be a complete psycho, but from what I can tell, her fault is that she is Western and not bharatya-naari like the others? So CT can bring her into the home to have a live-in relationship, but SHE has to change and become some Stepford Bahu because otherwise paap lagega? 🥱 Seriously annoying. So what if she's Western? At least she's not a murderer. She doesn't have to be traditional to be valid. Highly irritating.

Though, of course, the only reason for this whole shebang is to bring Jalebi into CT's house ...why they couldn't have had a contract marriage of convenience like the rest of their breed, Devi Maiyya only knows...

WORD and WORD to what you girls have already said - I am so not convinced that of all the things THIS should be the method which the CV's decide to use to implant Ms. Jalebi into CT's house.
1) Why should Lavanya change for the whim of one old lady in the house?
2) Why can't Nani talk to La with respect? Respect is not a one sided street - you cannot expect to gain respect, unless you respect the other person.
3) Why is La being such a silly little goose and agreeing to this charade?
4) Why wouldn't La feel humiliated when Anjali decides to get the holier than thou Jalebi to teach her some Luckhnowi tehzeeb? What is this - 18-th century England where young ladies needed a governess to teach them propriety?
5) Why can't Anjali gently explain the pertinent details to La herself?

And I read somewhere that Rati Pandey finds her ex-costar's show "interesting"??!!??? *snorts*

Edit: Heyyy Sarah - my parents have watched Dhoop Kinare ... when I read the plot on Wikipedia, even I felt like this show might be similar to the old classic. Monish Behl isn't bad ... and Kritika Kamra too is okay ...like I said in my comment - let's see how they treat the plot. Sounds interesting though ...

Vasu - I loved all the Audrey Hepburn siggys. Any chance you can find the Sound of Music siggys in your pandora's box?

Hey LadyM!
I've watched Dhoop Kinare. I loved everything about it except for the age difference between the lead characters. And in this case there's an even wider age gap between Mohnish and Kritika. He has played fatherly roles opposite other actresses of her age. Thoda zyada ho gaya hai. But let's see how's treated.
Totally agree with you on the Nani-Lavanya issue!

I agree with you Sarah about the age issue! It's not something that I look upon very fondly. I don't mind a couple like Ram and Priya where the age difference is 8-10 years. (Even that is too much these days IMO - but still it is not too awkward.) You are right Monish has played a father to girls of Kritika's age. It would be weird to see him romancing with Kritika - or even harboring those emotions for her. There is always a "Jogger's Park" (I don't know if you have seen that movie with Victor Bannerjee and Perizaad Zohrabian) now and then, but on the whole, the notion completely freaks me out.

@ Abhi - LOL, I see. Who in this day and age wears so much oil in their hair? I want to know how Mohan survived in the US or UK with THAT look for the first couple of weeks. 😆
@ LadyM - Tell me about it. Age differences that go beyond 8 - 10 years are a major turn off for me too. The concept of a man/woman developing romantic feelings for someone that's over 15 years older than them is plain weird. I can't imagine why Kritika's character would feel that way about Mohnish no matter how appealing his personality might be.

Oh his sundar ghane baal must have been the envy of everyone's eyes. 😆

@Sarah/LadyMM- The age difference between Mohnish Behl and Kritika Kamra seems repulsing. How they hell are you expecting to show a 22 year old falling in 'lowe' with a guy almost her father's age? It's almost like cradle-snatching, or more so baby-sitting.
KK looks good with her PDA obsessed bf only!
