Missing V-Mars, please feel free to join in. I love Veronica Mars btw, great show. Tom deserved his Oscars, but I do see the counterpoint in how people feel Forrest Gump was exaggerated. I love the film, but I get. And I do love Tom from everything from Philadelphia to Cast Away to Charlie Wilson's War.
I don't necessarily love The Reader persay, but if you have seen Sam Mendes's film, they repeat the same thing over and over again. But trust me American Beauty is the original, and I love that film. But I feel that if Sam Mendes can extract great performances, which he does, he can move away from showing discontent in suburbia. It gets tiresome after awhile. So this is my own prejudice speaking.
Cool Hand Luke, uh this has a been a bad year, I was so sad to hear of his loss. Here is a screentest between James Dean and Paul Newman btw. And I guess we are two sides of the same coin, haha.

Nimz, unfortunately my youtube is not functioning due to a missing plug in. I shall install the missing plug in and view the video tomorrow. James Dean auditioned for the role? Wow, I did not know that. I'm glad Paul Newman was chosen....his performance was uncontestable, and remains one of the best of all time.

Soha, I love that scene you chose. Sigh... I did, and I wish the film had gotten more recognition this year. Actually, I think Brad Pitt is a better comic actor than people give him credit for, but he wasn't bad in this.

Oh Jerry Maguire, as much as I love that film. I can't forgive what that director did to Janeane Garofalo by making her loose all the weight for the role, like 20 pounds and then giving the role to Renee.

Oh, and Soha the audition was for East of Eden, which I believe did star James Dean. But seriously Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, a movie causing many to swoon unconditionally for Paul Newman.

True that. And yes, that is one of my favorite romantic films along with Ghost. And they are gushy films, but I would say they are more than just chick flicks.
