I just read that Chanakya wanted Amatya Rakshas😡 to be Chandragupt's Prime Minister..😲Later Amatya accepted this proposal whole heartedly...

Yes Anu that's right😉...i think i've said this thing b4 in this forum on some other thread...Rakshas was very loyal to Dhannu...after Cgm killed Dhannu...Rakshas did conspiracies against Cgm and C...but later C made him realize that his responsibilities are towards Magadh not Dhaana...later on both C and Rakshas helped Cgm during his rule as ministers for a long time😃...so i guess

Amatya bechara Dhanna ke bojh ka maara😆

amatya was also a mastermind like chanakya..isliye to Chanakya took the risk..CGM ko marwana thodi hai😉😆

Yes Anu...thnxx,...Chanakya after enthroning CGM as the Maharaja of a united, and much larger Magadha Saamrajya;looked after the kingdom as his prime minister.But Chanakya needed time to write the theories and ideas which he had evolved.

Amartya Rakshas after the becoming of king of Magadha..had gone underground.Still he was sending assassination groups to kill CGM.But due Chanakya's vigilant eye,his conspiracies were failing...

Soon after Chanakya found out that one of his friends was sheltering the wife and children of Amartya...he immediately captured them...and announced death sentence to his friend,who had infact betrayed him.Chanakya knew that Amartya would never allow his friend to die.So Amartya presented himself before Chanakya and asked to be given the death sentence; instead of his friend.Chanakya asked him whether he wanted his wife and children, along with his friend to be released.Amartya agreed , as he thought he would be put to death anyways.

But Chanakya asked for a different price from Amartya.He asked Amartya whether he would serve as the prime minister of Chandragupta Maurya.Chanakya knew that once if Amartya took up the post, he would even die for CGM, such was his commitment and devotion to his work.

Amartya readily agreed.So while Amartya took up the post of MahaMantri of CGM, Chanakya took a post of a smaller minster, and finding ample time in his hands, wrote all his theories and ideas, more commonly known as 'Chanakya Neeti ' or 'Kautilya Shastra'.

Yes, that is correct. Actually Amatya Rakshas was very intelligent. But the problem with him was that the king Dhananad himself was not at all a good king and Amatya Rakshas was fully devoted to his king.

Chanakya had an advantage that he had to guide Chandragupt, who himself was quite intelligent and dedicated. Moreover,Chanakya was not only Chandragupta's prime minister but also his mentor. Amatya Rakshas did not have any of these advantages.

After Nanda empire was uprooted and also there was no fear from Greeks, Chanakya thought of going back to the job he found himself most suited in - that of teaching. But before leaving he wanted somebody really good to become prime minister and he knew that Amatya Rakshas was the best candidate.

This story tells a very good thing about Chanakya that he was able to find good qualities even in enemies.
