Helena wrote letter in impeccable Hindi (even though she speaks certain Urdu / Mughal words) to Malay in the name of Nandini. It is assumable that Helena, out of possessiveness and love for chandra, learnt to speak, read and write Hindi. But Aparna the Macedonian Queen, writing letter to Malay on behalf of Nandini - in Hindi ?? and without any spelling mistake ?? with good handwriting ?? and read aloud by Chandra to Nandini ??Hell, Aparna wasnt even in India when her daughter got married to Chandra. And she learnt to write Hindi in a few visits to India ? Amazing !!

Is Aparna what they are calling her in this serial? It would make sense, since her marriage and conversion would have resulted in a cultural transformation. We discuss the actual history of the people involved in this threadOne of the things that came out is that she did learn Sanskrit and the classical Indian artsOne of my real beef w/ most of these serials these days is that they make no effort to go shudh Hindi, which is why you result w/ Urdu words being used, which is really anachronistic. Like Alexander would never have been called 'Iskander' or 'Sikander' in any of the prevailent Indian languages then - be it Sanskrit, Prakrit or anything else around at the time, yet one sees it being used. Also, it's not clear that Devanagiri was the script of choice by then to write Sanskrit or other languages - maybe it was. But it is jarring when they use Urdu or Mughal terms. If the real Helena had indeed been this devious, then she would have had one of her maids write this for her, so that no such error would have happened. And one would think that she'd have Nandini's handwriting pat down either herself, or by the maid.In the above thread, we point out that not only was the 'Nandini' character fictional, but that Helena wouldn't have had the scope to plot against anybody. After she married, it wasn't too long before Chandragupta abdicated and went south and became a Jain. While she did dedicate her life to learning about Magadhan culture, that would not have given her a scope to do all this. It's also hard to believe that such operations would have happened w/ Chanakya - one of the ultimate Machiavellian schemers - in the picture
