Chanakya actually leaves after giving the degree to Nandini in a huff. Even that little bit of enquiry that was being done before the lady swallowed poison was being done by Chandragupt. Chanakya doesn't seem to have bothered about it then and even later on. Then this attack on the king happens. Nobody asks any questions or no regular enquiry is conducted. Nandini seems to be the only one with some doubts because she has surmised that Nand had no hand in this. She is shown wondering for a spilt second who could be behind this. But she too seems to have given up thinking about all this in her present problems.

Her object was seemingly to expose Nandini . Who had sent her? Why didn't Chanakya order for an enquiry when such a crime had taken place directly under his nose?

Chanakya's anger in the case of the stolen Shahi Seal is only for the defeat of his wow he will have to face if Nand is 'pardoned'! By the way, how can an enemy king be pardoned ? The question of pardon comes if he had been arrested and put in Jail but here it is not so.

I am reading with a lot of interest all the posts and insightful replies. I am in CHANDRALAND these days and hence siding towards the serial in spite of its so many loopholes in logic. My few thoughts.

Bloopers and Questions:

Nandini's headgear in Ashram was dropped by her when Chandra lifted her from the fellow student.
How come the headgear is found in make shift GUPT place ?
😆
In some scenes there is no continuity of dress colors. In one scene he wears Maroon and next black. For e.g once he is in Mahal, his Pyjamas became maroon from earlier colour. Okay - will give this to Vydhyaji for now. 😉

No enquiry into assassination attempts is the biggest of all. And what was Chandra conveying to Nandini before he was hit by that poisonous arrow ? Was he suspecting or confused or grateful she fought with him. I could not get it.

Will the Top GOVT SEAL lie in Emperor Bedroom just like that ?!!!!! 😆 And there is practically no security anywhere in Mahal. Malay enters Nandini's room in the dead of night. 😡

In Dakshasila, I thought a friendship was blossoming. If they project it as more than friendship but less than love, it is too early, in my view. They could have carried the camradarie for a little longer in Mahal before bringing up the MU track. This MU track looks too forced and has some logic loopholes.

Nandini may have known the special oil that breaks the VISH is all fine. But the same bottle of Oil stored in a wooden cupboard doing the magic in one night is too much. And Raj Vaidya of Magadh does not know the cure !!! It is like me doing google read and treating someone instead of a trained surgeon.

What I liked :

Tidbits between Nandini and CG when she was drunk with milk (!). She said he does not to laugh. These conversations make their relationship a lot different than other ones. In some sense, she treats him as a equal and human and not always as monarch.

Rajat's portrayal. He has been consumed by the raging fire of jealousy . When he hears the same thing from various people, it appears he has lost his mind. But he was phenomenal throughout.

I am currently invested in the serial as I like the JODI, Love story and LOOOVVVEEE Chandra Gupt. So all mistakes forgiven.

😉

While returning from the Patasala, both of them are attired in Royal dress. Did they bring their dress along with them?

Further, that special oil was there in the same place for several years!

Chandra Nandini 61-65

Folks,
I see some very interesting debates going, and I am literally itching to jump into them feet first. Alas, I can barely manage these few lines, for since yesterday, it is the same old story, but worse than usual, with both my hands seizing up at the same time. At first, it was hard even to eat holding a spoon, and for the first time, my left hand was worse affected than the usual culprit, the right one.

I hope the emergency medication will make things better by tomorrow, so that I can put down a 3 pager, to be called Promise belied. If not, it will have to be on Tuesday. I am sure you are all getting exasperated with me for being such a laggard, but I cannot help it. In fact, by now, I am getting very doubtful about how long I can keep up these posts on anything like a regular basis. The seizures are so unpredictable and so severe.

Just one point. I was not criticising Chandra for being blindly jealous. I have said so in my last mini-post on the episodes 64 & 65. He is in any case given to knee jerk reactions, and is not (as yet) really wise or far sighted. No one who had these qualities would have trusted Malayaketu no matter what he said and how he sought to whitewash himself. Not that Chanakya has covered himself with glory in this matter either. But just because Malay is now his brother in law, is it that Chandra has to give him a blank cheque in perpetuity? No wise king would do any such thing.

To revert, what I did not like was his acting in that scene with Nandini, which was simply not up to Rajat's standards. I cannot gloss over that just because I adore the boy.

OK, folks, I will do my level best to get back tomorrow. Right now, having had a very bad night, all I want is to take a long nap!

Bang on Periyamma - I also noticed it. Did not list it down. Good catch. Infact they walked empty handed into the Paatashala. 😆 They were wearing the same dress next day ( Day of Exam). 😆

Shailaja dear,

My fingers seem ready to fall off, but just one line, to tell you to let me know when you post such things. I would never think of anything you write, in your FF or elsewhere in the forum, as unimportant, and I would have read them even if I was not up to commenting on them. As is the case now, for I itch to put down things, mostly in agreement with you but some where I disagree, but I cannot manage it at all.

All credit to you, kiddo, for carrying on this crusade for positivity literally singlehandedly.👏

Aunty I was writing and commenting a lot elsewhere on the forum. I cannot comment on the most recent episode as I haven't caught up with it. Of late, even when everything was going good and decently on the show, the forum had become a Wailing Adda and Frustration Camp. So I started making two or three mini discussion posts every week apart from my FF just to maintain the positivity quotient balance in the forum. I never PMed them because I felt they were not so important, and moreover not worth giving stress to your fingers.

I will copy paste a few of them which might actually interest you:

My dear Shyamala,
There is a chapter in Thirukkural about Kooda Natpu, that is, whom not to choose as a friend.
The kuraL says,
Pagai natpaam kaalam varungaal mugam nattu
Aganatpore(e) vidal,
It means, when a person, who was your foe originally, comes to make friendship with you, (don't trust him completely, but) avoid his friendship gradually.

Another one, in the Chapter Sutram thazhaal ( On showing kindness to relatives) which goes,

Uzhaippirindu kaaranaththaal vandaanai vendan
Izhaithirunthu eNNikkoLal

Explanation:
When an acquaintance, once left you with animosity comes back to you for some reason of his own , don't trust him completely, because, given an opportunity, his animosity towards you will grow to the maximum and he will become your greatest enemy.

It is sad to note that Chanakya, who wrote the Arthashastra didn't think along these lines!

Saraswathi Akka.

Thirukural, Kamba Ramayanam - Periyamma - You are a Tamil Pulavar.

Last week me and Son went to Hampi - The city full of ruins from Krishna Deva dynasty. Infact I got bored with so much ruins in spite of being a history person. Son kept dragging me to see all ruins in hot sun. 😡

I was telling him the story of Silapadhigaram - Kovalan, Kannagi and Madhavi etc. In spite of being well versed so much, I forgot some names and sequences. Just saying. So nice to see that you quote so much without forgetfulness. 👏 ⭐️

Dears - This is for all in this thread.

Sometimes you meet someone, and it's so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you're in love or you're partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. I don't know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely makes me believe in something.
