So beautiful and touching, brought tears to my eyes. Thanks so much Alakh.
And as I understand Sant Kabirji was against discrimination in the name of caste. Not per say opposed the foundation of Varnas ordained.

But I agree with ur points! The varnas were etched in stone by the rulers of society to make sure they were in control, aka the brahmins!

Your actions determine your varna, because today many brahmins are merchants or Kshatriyas are not in army

Thanks for dropping in Rati. I agree one show is enough at a time! And that is why I keep alternating!! When CAS becomes unbearable I will move back to MP. And I will definitely be there during Haldighati.

You should go through his poetry. Try reading Kabir ki shabdavli, its uploaded on scribd.. its the original version.

He opposed almost everything😆

Kahe Kabir Satlok ke purush, shadb ke sarnai
Ami ank ne kuhuk nikari, sakal srishti pe chai

For some one form Satlok- Caste , religion and everything is pointless. Nothing is superior or inferior

Kabir khada bazaar mein, sabki mange khair
Na kahu se dosti, na kahu se bair

Thanks for the link :-) lovely.
But Alakh we also need to remember the plane of his talking and the context. He is beyond the body notion- he has said boldly he is 'as is', many have accumulated dirt. The 'as is' is the key here. That is the plane at which he is. Such a great great soul. I repeatedly salute to Him.

But tell me something, on one hand you say that the attributes to the Shudra caste is Tamasic (in response to Rohini's question), and later you negate it by saying that Varna has no attributes. I'm not sure I understand.

Will do some research and be back😆

Adishakti : Hmm, you make valid points. However, one cannot ignore the history through which this concept of varna came into being. Sudras were treated as the Slaves of the entire tribe.

@ Krystal, no contradicting the fact, it is the truth shudras were treated badly, it started from the time of Ramayana itself, it became progressively worse to the extent that shudras became untouchables, by the time British came to India everyone was really cruel and inhuman with them, so if western world talks badly about varna system we really can't blame them, they are simply repeating what they saw.
But at the cost of repeating myself Vedas are not to blame, Indian society is. just like Islam cannot be blamed for what ISIS is doing

All the Brahmin, vaishya and Kshatriya oppressors simply hoodwinked everyone that their behavior is justified by Vedas and it was pretty easy for them to get away with it as they simply prevented people from reading them

Almost all my Muslim friends read Quran regularly, most of my Christian friends know their psalms, but if I ask my Hindu friends, no one has read the Vedas or Bhagavad Gita, they have memorized Gayatri mantra and hanuman chalisa without understanding the meaning, and seen Mahabharata and ramayan on TV. And this is not a gen Z phenomenon, it's same story with my dad and grand dad's generation.
