And we cannot view or judge things by current standards. Like polygamy it was the order of those days with its pluses and minuses. It is like blaming Dalton for Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

True that. Sanskrit is a very layered language. For example the word Brahmana has the synonym Dwija, meaning twice born. Now how many Bramhins can claim to be twice born (or realised souls)? Over a period of time, the complexity and lack of understanding of the language has caused several misinterpretations and misrepresentations.
