Scene 64

Next two months Viren just worked and worked. Nivedita hardly saw him. He was very busy at both his works and Nivedita was getting worried for his health. He hardly slept and skipped meals. Nivedita was thinking that they were happier earlier, where they had less money, but they had each other. She tried to talk to him every day, but he was so tired when he camehome that she couldn't say what she wanted. Few days back Yash was gone to Shimla to meet Keshav and NT Dadi. He had been busy with studies and the publishing house and as soon as he got vacations; he went to Shimla. NT Dadi has been sick lately and Nivedita couldn't leave Viren alone and go to Shimla.

Viren came early that afternoon. Nivedita was working on some assignments. He came in and looked at her. He had not had time to look at her properly due to load of work and he couldn't get enough of her. She stood up and looked at him. He hugged her tightly and Nivedita did the same. She had really missed him and there was tenderness in his hug.

Nivedita had forgotten the world. She was lost in his embrace and had not moved a bit. Viren felt in the same way. He was caressing her hair and then he tried to pull her a little away from him, but Nivedita was not willing too. Viren smiled a little then he said that Nivedita, I have missed you so much. Nivedita tightened her grip around him and said that she had missed him so much and she did not like he worked that much. He was hardly home and did not eat properly. She asked him why he had to, when they had everything. She was crying.

Viren took her face in his hands and looked at her. Then he wiped her tears away and kissed her on the foreheard and asked why not she said it earlier… She was looking at him and then placed her head on his chest and did not answer. Viren knew the answer. He hugged her and then said that she should get ready. They had to see something. Nivedita looked at him and was not willing to leave the house at the moment. Viren said that it was important that she was with him, so she went in to get ready.

Viren came in and gave her a packet and said that he wished to see her in this. He kissed her on her cheek and went out. Nivedita opened the packet. Viren had cought a black saree, filled with embroidery in silver. He had bought bangles and jewelry and Nivedita smiled thinking about him. She had not worn that color, but she did her best to look best. Viren saw her when she was all dressed up and he could not take her eyes from her.

He went over to her and kissed her slightly on her lips and gave her a rose and said I love you Nivedita from bottom of my heart. She looked at him and said that she loved him too. She hugged him and Viren smiled and said that he was the luckiest man on earth because he had her. He asked her to come with him. She smiled and asked him if it really was necessary. She looked so cute when she was asking that Viren took her in his arms and said… It is more than important.

When they were out of the building, Viren said that they were going by her favorite vehicle. She looked at him and he told her that he had got a motorcycle. She looked at him and he said that this is the beginning. She looked at him and he whispered that she had to sit very close to him. Nivedita smiled and Viren sat on the bicycles and nivedita followed and said close to Viren.

She had closed her eyes and was enjoying being with Viren when they suddenly stopped. Nivedita opened her eyes and looked at Viren. He was smiling and said that her dreams will one by one come true. She kept looking at him, when he offered his hand to help her get down and then he placed his arms around her shoulders and asked her to come with him. She looked at him wondering.
