Yes to both. Both are decent reads. Silent patient was better imo. Behind closed doors has this whole nauseating vibe to it which was very well done (kinda like Lisa Jewell’s books) but I couldn’t get into the writing style. So I felt it dragged a bit for me.

I really enjoyed both BCD and TSP! Though TSP had a better ending. I loved the writing style of BCD and couldn't stop reading but the end was a let down.

Lizzie, yesterday I was wondering, how can it be a coincidence that Freida's The Wife Upstairs is exactly the same as Verity, I looked it up, and ironically her FMC's name also started with a V. Then I checked the publishing date and it released after Verity. Not only this, but even the title The Wife Upstairs is copied from another author.

Then I looked up The Housemaid series, which released after the Maid series by Nita Prose, both have 3 books each. Nita Prose released a novella on the housemaid's wedding, Prose also released a novella on Molly and Juan's love story during Christmas (Mistletoe Mystery). but THAT'S NOT THE ONLY IRONY! Prose has the maid's secret while Freida has the housemaid's secret (idk which one released first, but if it was Freida, i wouldnt be surprised if she hacked Nita's database or something)

So I was like all of this can not be a coincidence, I searched Google to see what other people were saying and reddit is filled with people complaining about Freida copying other people's work!

The Housemaid is a copy of The Last Mrs Parrish

The Boyfroend is a copy of A Twisted Love Story

The Ex is a copy of The Wife Between Us

The Crash is a copy of Misery

The Teacher is a copy of My Dark Vanessa

She even has one called One by One, the title is copied from Ruth Ware's novel and the plots are also very similar.

How is she getting away with all this? No wonder she comes up with so many books in one year.

Ftr, I have read Verity and Wife Upstairs and was boggled with how similar they are right upto how two of the characters meet! Oh, of course, she changes bits and parts here and there, and Verity has a lot of spice whereas Freida's books are always non-spicy. But still ... that's a lot of plot copying for someone who is such a well-established (& read) author. I truly do not know how she gets away with it. The other authors should sue!
